Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our renewable energy project development efforts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of wind and solar projects from early to late stages, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Lead a team of specialists to provide project schedule, cost estimates, and construction engineering specifications for renewable energy projects.
  • Project Oversight: Oversee project expenditures and cost-effective procurement of labor, equipment, and materials, coordinating with authorized company representatives to conduct bid meetings and reviews, supplier selections and evaluations, and determining contracting strategy aligned with labor utilization strategies.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate project status to all stakeholders, including leadership levels, and engage stakeholders in decisions to ensure a clear understanding of direction and expectations.
  • Market Analysis: Identify potential renewable project development opportunities, including negotiating leases, easements, and other agreements.
  • Business Development: Assist the development team in preparation of marketing and generation of potential renewable development opportunities and mergers & acquisitions (M&A) proposals.
  • Risk Management: Evaluate conditions and execute solutions to control project risk with leadership.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including documentation and record-keeping requirements.
  • Market Research: Assess renewable energy market conditions, trends, and opportunities across multiple political and geographic environments and markets.
  • Industry Engagement: Participate in industry working groups related to potential or proposed renewable energy policy changes or new initiatives.
  • Community Outreach: Support community engagement efforts to achieve project outcomes, including direct engagement in community meetings.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience: Experience in engineering, construction management, or business administration.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in the renewable energy sector.
  • Project Management: Experience in local project siting and permitting.
  • Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Preferred Skills
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with project management software.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to manage the development and strategic process for wind and/or solar energy projects.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, be flexible, and work under changing and competing priorities.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to coordinate deadlines and logistics to successfully lead work processes within an agreed-upon time frame.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to balance multiple demands from leaders, peers, and partners in a positive and even-handed manner and display a calm demeanor under pressure.
