Key Responsibilities:

  • Emptying rubbish bins from the kitchen area regularly to prevent the buildup of waste and maintain a clean environment.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing all equipment, including rubbish bins from food production and service areas, to ensure a hygienic workspace.
  • Ensuring all crockery, pots, pans, cutlery, and other kitchen utensils are washed, cleaned, and maintained properly using specific chemicals and kitchen machinery safely.
  • Washing, scrubbing, and cleaning kitchen walls, floors, and kitchen areas regularly to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Cleaning kitchen machinery filters and hoods regularly to maintain equipment to the highest standards.
  • Arranging all silverware, crockery, pots, and pans in the correct storage areas to maintain organization and efficiency.
  • Reporting all accidents and breakages to the Chief Steward to ensure prompt action is taken.
  • Working in a safe manner and adhering to Occupational Health & Safety Legislation and Standards to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Complying with Food & Safety Hygiene Standards (HACCP) to ensure the highest standards of food safety are maintained.
  • Carrying out any other duties as instructed by the shift Supervisor or senior staff member to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in a similar role.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
