Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Materials Engineer to join our team. As a Materials Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and suitability of construction materials used in our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Material Submittal and Approval: Obtain approvals for materials submittal in all activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulations.
  • Asphalt Mix Design: Prepare and obtain approvals for Asphalt mix designs, ensuring they meet project requirements and are produced from Asphalt plants.
  • Concrete Mix Design and Plant Trials: Prepare and conduct plant trials for various concrete mix designs, ensuring quality and compliance with project specifications.
  • Quality Management: Ensure maintenance of all Quality management documents and records, including plans, inspection, test records, and checklists.
  • Technical Advice and Support: Provide technical advice on the suitability of materials, diagnose faults, and advise on planning and organizing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Operational Quality Control: Oversee operational quality control processes, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulations.
  • Liaison and Communication: Liaise with suppliers, customers, and manufacturing/development staff, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Technical Staff Supervision: Supervise technical staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Fracture Analysis and Technical Reporting: Conduct and ensure in-depth Fracture Analysis and Technical Reports, providing valuable insights and recommendations.
  • Cycle Time Objective: Maintain cycle time objectives within responsibility areas, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
  • Material and Process Concerns: Address materials and process concerns from suppliers, manufacturing, and customers, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
  • Material Information and Data: Provide material information and data to Engineering, ensuring accurate and timely information.
  • Material Logs and Testing: Update material logs and conduct tests at external sources, ensuring accurate and reliable data.
  • Product Failure Analysis: Analyze product failure data and laboratory test results to determine causes of problems and develop solutions.
  • Raw Material and Finished Product Testing: Conduct or supervise tests on raw materials or finished products to ensure their quality and compliance with project specifications.
  • Testing and Control Procedures: Design and direct the testing and/or control of processing procedures, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulations.
  • Construction Methodology: Determine appropriate methods for construction of works, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulations.
  • Material Performance and Deterioration: Monitor material performance and evaluate material deterioration, ensuring prompt and effective action.
  • Laboratory Operations: Plan and implement laboratory operations for the purpose of developing material testing procedures that meet project specifications and performance standards.
  • Material Submittals and Selection: Review material submittals and make recommendations for material selection based on specification objectives, such as strength, weight, heat resistance, electrical conductivity, and cost.
