Job RequirementsThe successful candidate will have experience in District Cooling, Networks, pumping station, and water projects. They will manage the pricing process and technical inquiries review before sending to clients.
The Estimation Manager will assist the Estimation Director with budgetary pricing for all potential projects. They will provide recommendations to the bidding structure, costing programs, number of estimators required per job, and advise on any new techniques for estimating purposes.
The role involves supervising the detailed engineering manhour cost estimating function for civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and communications works on Design Projects. The successful candidate will review tender documents, tender submission requirements, and particular conditions of tender.
They will provide appropriate clarifications to all sections of formal bids to ensure clarity of requirements from a legal, commercial, and technical viewpoint. The Estimation Manager will price project preliminaries in accordance with project duration, requirements, and tender price analysis.
The position requires the candidate to coordinate with other department managers to acquire certain requirements for tender submission. They will attend site visit meetings and pre-tender meetings.
The Estimation Manager will negotiate with key suppliers on major packages prior to tender submission on final price submission. They will review contractors' variation quantities and extra items.
Liaising with project engineers in the preparation of development concepts and plans is also a key responsibility. The successful candidate will develop alternative options for cost effectiveness as required by project management.
Providing cost-related inputs for value engineering and benchmarking rates for database and quick reference for future use are also essential duties.
