New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Class Year Experience Manager reporting to the Associate Director for Student Engagement and Leadership Development.

The Class Year Experiences Manager is part of the Department of Student Life and provides operational management of key class-based student programs and initiatives, and their integration into other important programming platforms of the Student Life Department, including the residential experience and student activities.

The Manager’s primary responsibility will be delivering robust first-year and senior-year programming and other class-based programming such as town halls, award ceremonies, student outreach events, etc. This position assumes significant responsibility for the coordination and execution for first-year arrival and senior-year departure for students at NYUAD - namely the “Marhaba” and “Ma’a Salama” programs respectively.

The Class Year Experience Manager works closely with the Associate Director of Student Engagement & Leadership Development and manages the Class Year Experience Coordinator. The Manager also works regularly with other colleagues in the Student Life Department and Student Affairs Division to develop a well-coordinated set of programs and resources that advance NYUAD’s broader educational mission, including first-year student on-boarding, senior year student off-boarding, and general class-based student learning and engagement. The Manager will be a very student-facing presence and widely accessible, and will meet with the Student Government Class Representatives on a regular basis to understand and provide support or response to individual cohort’s needs and initiatives. The Manager plays a key role in the development and support of the first year experience programming at NYUAD.

The role will oversee “Marhaba,” the orientation program for all incoming first year students as well as an extended first year experience curriculum throughout the year, collaborating with other offices within the Student Affairs Division or on campus to provide learning and growth opportunities for first year students. The Manager will help to design and implement the First Year Experience “Weyak” Program’s curriculum content, model, and activities in

collaboration with the residential team. In addition, the Manager will design and implement the “Ma’salama” program, the senior-year “exit programming” to recognize, and commemorate their time at NYUAD while equipping them with key knowledge and skills for transition after college. The Manager will also support and partner closely with other divisional and campus stakeholders to plan and execute Commencement activities.

Finally, this position will collaborate with many members of the Student Affairs Division to provide ad-hoc support for large-scale divisional events and programs and will be expected to provide relief/back-up coverage for other members of the Student Life staff when necessary. The Manager will also join in other Student Life staff members to perform rotational on-call duties, where a 15-min response time to campus is required during the on-call week.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Class Year Events & Programming - Design, Implementation, and Assessment:_
- Direct the design, development, and execution of the “Marhaba” (first-year student orientation and Parent Marhaba) program each fall
- Implement the First Year Weyak Program and Curriculum for all incoming students in consultation with SLICECT and other relevant Student Affairs offices
- Develop and assess the Weyak Curriculum in collaboration with Student Life staff and other Student Affairs divisional colleagues
- Ensure that first year students are connected holistically and meaningfully to the vast resources provided by Student Life, Student Affairs, and NYUAD
- Coordinate with the Associate Director and other team members in Student Life on needed individual outreach to first-year students throughout the academic year
- Meet with Weyak Leaders and first year student to build relational rapport to address common transitional issues; connect and refer first year students to relevant campus resources for continuous support
- Conduct weekly check-in meetings with the Weyak Leaders and Weyak Program staff for pulse check-in and provide any administrative support
- Coordinate the planning, execution, and assessment of the Ma’assalama programming for graduating seniors
- Liaise and guide the Senior Class Year Representative and Committee on Ma’salama programming planning and execution
- Liaise and guide the First Year, Sophomore, and Junior Class Year Representatives and Committees on class-based events/programming throughout the year
- Design and execute the Post-Marhaba Survey, Weyak Program assessment, First Year Experience Survey, and Ma’salama Program assessment
