**About this job**:
Responsible for directly managing a category/group of sub-categories, defining their category strategy and leveraging Aggreko’s global footprint to maximise the value derived from procurement in these areas. Manage one direct report and provide support to Global Category Leads, assisting in the development and execution of the overarching category strategy.

**Your key responsibilities**:
**We’re **Dynamic **& **Innovative **. **In an ever changing business you will be nimble in seizing opportunities to pioneer effective ways to meet and exceed your responsibilities which are as follows**:

- Responsible for the development, sign off and execution of the category strategy and plan for the named category/sub-category in line with Source to Contract process, policies and governance as per the Procurement handbook, meeting business requirements, optimising performance and deliver value for money whilst minimising the total cost
- Implement actions to optimally leverage category suppliers globally; drive common standards across vendors to ensure comparability of suppliers within the category
- Make category recommendations using sourcing levers, and introduce/ manage category projects to deliver these with the business e.g. balancing pricing, equipment diversity, process standardisation opportunities and longer term supplier relationships for the categories. Supported by Senior Buyers and Buyers within regions to help drive the execution of projects/ sourcing activity.
- Manage relationship with the Business Units to ensure that the strategy reflects their ability to fulfil Procurement requirements and ensure compliance
- Manage one direct report, guide and monitor them to assist with the execution of strategic and operational sourcing processes (above spend threshold) and approve commitment, based on authority delegated
- Ongoing contract administration of all managed contracts within category, ensuring the contracted service continues to meet business requirements and contracts are reflective of the service delivered and are in line with the contracting policy
- Management of supplier performance over the life of the contract, monitoring both Aggreko and Supplier compliance to contractual agreements within category in order to optimise performance.
- Proactive management of relationships with suppliers following the SRM/SPM policy and governance forums, identifying opportunities for innovation, growth, reduced cost to drive further value
- Responsible for all operational, commercial and supply chain risk management and reporting for named category supported by the Performance Analyst
- Delivery of savings targets in line with signed off category plans, supporting the Performance Analyst to ensure accurate tracking in line with the process handbook, continually push to exceed expectations while ensuring commercial perspective
- Proactive engagement with Product Management and Engineering to reduce risk on supplier engagement for NPI (Directs only)
- Close collaboration with the Supplier Quality & Development team to improve supplier quality by establishing a supplier audit plan

**The knowledge and skills you’ll need to be successful**:

- Demonstrable experience in a professional procurement role, with direct categories, in a multi-national organisation striving for Capex and Opex optimisation.
- Demonstrable detailed understand of key suppliers and supply market dynamics of the category to be managed
- Extensive experience of developing and implementing category strategies (related to the category role being applied for)
- Experience of Contract drafting, including development of schedules, commercials, and appropriate terms and conditions
