**Job Summary**:
The Employee Relations Manager is responsible for fostering a positive work environment by managing employee relations activities within the organization. This role involves addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and promoting employee engagement. The Employee Relations Manager will work closely with management and staff to ensure that workplace policies and practices support the overall goals of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
**Employee Relations**:
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, including complaints, grievances, and disciplinary actions.
Conduct thorough investigations into employee complaints and workplace issues, ensuring fairness and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary procedures.
Develop and implement employee relations policies and procedures that align with the organization's goals and legal standards.
**Conflict Resolution**:
Mediate and resolve conflicts between employees and management, promoting a harmonious and productive work environment.
Collaborate with legal counsel and HR leadership to address complex employee relations issues.
Implement proactive strategies to identify potential employee relations issues and mitigate risks.
**Compliance**:
Monitor changes in labor laws and update policies and procedures accordingly.
Prepare and maintain records related to employee relations activities, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
**Employee Engagement**:
Develop and implement programs to improve employee morale and engagement, including recognition programs, team-building activities, and communication initiatives.
Conduct exit interviews and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Support diversity and inclusion initiatives within the organization.
**Training and Development**:
Provide training to managers and employees on effective communication, conflict resolution, and other employee relations topics.
Collaborate with the Learning and Development team to create and deliver training programs that support employee growth and development.
**Qualifications**:
**Education**:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
**Experience**:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in employee relations, human resources, or a related field.
**Skills**:
Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Certifications:
Professional certifications such as PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP are highly desirable.
