We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as an Assistant Animal Trainer in Abu Dhabi, UAE. **Key Responsibilities**:
- **Assist with Animal Training**: Work alongside experienced animal trainers to assist in training sessions for various species, including but not limited to mammals, birds, and reptiles. Help with positive reinforcement training techniques to teach animals new behaviors and routines.
- **Animal Care and Welfare**: Participate in the daily care and maintenance of animals, including feeding, grooming, cleaning enclosures, and providing enrichment activities to promote physical and mental stimulation.
- **Behavior Monitoring**: Monitor the behavior and health of animals, noting any changes or abnormalities and reporting them to senior staff members promptly. Assist with basic veterinary care and first aid under the supervision of trained professionals.
- **Facility Maintenance**: Assist with the upkeep and cleanliness of animal enclosures, training areas, and surrounding facilities. Ensure that all equipment and supplies are properly maintained and stored.
- **Public Engagement**: Interact with visitors, guests, and educational groups to provide information about the animals, conservation efforts, and responsible pet ownership. Participate in public demonstrations, presentations, or outreach events as needed.
- **Training Documentation**: Maintain accurate records of training sessions, behavioral observations, medical treatments, and other relevant information using designated record-keeping systems or software.
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience working with animals in a professional setting, such as a zoo, aquarium, wildlife sanctuary, or animal training facility, is preferred.
- Genuine passion for animals and a strong commitment to their welfare and well-being.
- Knowledge of animal behavior, learning theory, and positive reinforcement training techniques.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings, as animal care may require round-the-clock attention.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in animal care, training, or related fields are desirable but not essential.
