Job Title: Assistant Animal Keeper

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

**Salary**: Up to 2,000 AED per month

**Job Description**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Assist senior animal keepers in the daily care and husbandry of a variety of animal species, including mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians.
- Participate in the feeding, watering, and cleaning routines for animals, ensuring their health and well-being.
- Help maintain clean and sanitary conditions in animal enclosures, exhibits, and support facilities, including sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces.
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of animal diets, following established feeding protocols and dietary requirements.
- Monitor animals behavior and physical condition, reporting any concerns or abnormalities to senior staff members.
- Assist with the handling and restraint of animals for routine health checks, veterinary exams, and transport as needed.
- Provide environmental enrichment and mental stimulation for animals through the provision of toys, puzzles, and other enrichment activities.
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of animal enclosures, fences, gates, and other infrastructure to ensure safety and security.
- Participate in the training and socialization of animals, under the guidance of senior trainers and keepers.
- Educate visitors about the natural history, behavior, and conservation efforts related to the animals in our care.
- Collaborate with other animal care staff, veterinarians, and conservation experts to ensure the highest standards of animal welfare and husbandry are maintained.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe and hygienic work environment.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience working with animals in a zoo, aquarium, wildlife sanctuary, or similar setting is preferred but not required.
- Genuine passion for animal welfare and conservation, with a desire to make a positive impact through hands-on care and enrichment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to established animal care protocols and safety procedures.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the needs of the animals and facility.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
