**I.** **Broad Statement of Function**:
Responsible of Mending all hotel upholstery, linen, guest clothing and staff uniforms.

**II.** **Detailed Responsibilities**:

- Mends or alters hotel staff uniforms and hotel linen.
- Recycles condemned linen
- Stitches or mends guest clothing upon request.
- Makes promotional staff uniforms for food and beverage events.
- Assists the Housekeeping Attendant - Laundry as requested.
- Fold, twist, stretch, or drape material, and secure articles in preparation for sewing.
- Measure and align parts, fasteners, or trimmings, following seams, edges, or markings on parts.
- Select thread, twine, cord, or yarn to be used, and thread needles.
- Sew, join, reinforce, or finish parts of articles garments, using needles and thread or other materials.
- Smooth seams with heated irons, flat bones, or rubbing sticks.
- Trim excess threads or edges of parts, using scissors or knives.
- Use different sewing techniques such as felling, tacking, basting, embroidery, and fagoting.
- Attach trimmings and labels to articles with cement, using brushes or cement guns.
- Draw and cut patterns according to specifications.
- Sew buttonholes, or add lace or other trimming.
- Monitor machine operation to detect problems such as defective stitching, breaks in thread, or machine malfunctions.
- Position items under needles, using marks on machines, clamps, templates, or cloth as guides.
- Place spools of thread, cord, or other materials on spindles, insert bobbins, and thread ends through machine guides and components.
- Match cloth pieces in correct sequences prior to sewing them, and verify that dye lots and patterns match.
- Guide garments or garment parts under machine needles and presser feet to sew parts together.
- Start and operate or tend machines, such as single or double needle serging and flat-bed felling machines, to automatically join, reinforce, or decorate material or articles.
- Record quantities of materials processed.
- Inspect garments, and examine repair tags and markings on garments to locate defects or damage, and mark errors as necessary.
- Select supplies such as fasteners and thread, according to job requirements.
- Mount attachments, such as needles, cutting blades, or pattern plates, and adjust machine guides according to specifications.
- Brings immediately to the Housekeeping Office any item(s) left in guest clothing and room linen or staff uniforms, and follow the standard operating procedure.
- Contributes to the morale and team spirit of the hotel by maintaining effective relationships with colleagues.
- Performs additional duties as directed by supervisors.
- Is fully conversant with all health and safety, fires and emergency procedures.
- Maintains a high standard of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, and body language.
- Is polite and professional in any situation where the image or reputation of the hotel is represented.
- Attends meetings and training as required by supervisors.

**I.** **Position Requirements**

1. **Education**

Must be at least secondary graduate with good scholastic records.

2. **Experience**

2 - 3 years experienced on the same field or position.

3. **Technical Skills**

Must be proficient with equipment and hotel system.

4. **Organizational Skills**

Must possess excellent organizational skills, must be able to organize not only their own schedule but also those of their work ethics, able to multi task is a must.

5**. Interpersonal Skills**

Good communication skill is a must. They should be friendly and approachable and able to relate to co-workers, guest and customers alike.
