Technical Sales and Applications Manager

Job Summary:
The Technical Sales and Applications Manager is responsible for driving sales growth by providing technical expertise and support to customers and internal sales teams.
The individual will act as the primary technical liaison between the company and its clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering long-term relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Growth & Strategy:
- Develop and implement technical sales strategies to achieve company sales targets.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in target markets.
- Collaborate with the sales team to generate leads, manage sales pipelines, and close deals.
2. Technical Support & Expertise:
- Provide pre-sales technical assistance, product education, and support to customers.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations to customers.
3. Applications Engineering:
- Work closely with engineering and product development teams to ensure products meet customer needs and expectations.
- Provide feedback to the product development team on customer requirements and product performance.
4. Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
- Act as a technical consultant to clients, addressing any concerns or technical issues.
- Manage customer accounts, ensuring satisfaction and identifying opportunities for upselling.
5. Market Analysis & Reporting:
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
- Prepare and present sales forecasts, reports, and market analysis to senior management.
- Continuously gather customer feedback to drive product improvements and innovations.
6. Team Leadership & Development:
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering in Electrical, Technical Sales, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Strong understanding of the industry, products, and market trends.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts/projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Proficiency in CRM software and MS Office Suite.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in automation, manufacturing, etc.
- Knowledge of control panels, automation systems,
- Experience in leading a technical sales team.
Working Conditions:
