Unsecured Credit Policy Head

The incumbent will be responsible to setup, validate and maintain all credit policies across all the Unsecured Lending Portfolio in the UAE. This includes, but not limited to: Acquisition and Portfolio strategy (i.e. targeting, line assignment, cross sell, top-up, activation/retention, balance transfer, credit line increase, authorizations, etc.);
She or he will also ensure adherence to standards established in the global policy; will regularly monitor portfolio performance/profitability, ensuring performance is within established benchmarks and risk appetite.

The Unsecured Credit Policy Head will partner with colleagues in the risk team in order to ensure: accurate and timely forecasting; recruiting, training and leading of a team of risk professionals; defining and implementing the most effective and efficient collection strategy, controls and management of operational risk; execution and management of policy within specific geography.

She or he will work individually and in teams to provide best-in-class products and services to our customers, leveraging Citi's unparalleled global network to enable progress.

**Responsibilities**:

- Facilitating profitable growth of the Unsecured Lending products (Cards and Ready Credit) in the cluster: evaluation of business proposals, participation in plan formulation, communication of policy changes.
- Risk Appetite framework definition and analysis; benchmark formulation; bureau and score use strategies, profitability analysis. Preparation of PQR, RAF, benchmarks analysis and other dedicated and ad-hoc reports working with the Scoring and analytics team. Creatively analyze new data sources and tools for additional new opportunities.
- Will partner with operational risk, collection strategy and fraud managers in defining credit verification and collection process/policy. Ensuring controls over implementation of policy.
- Monitor and validate credit policies across program and customer lifecycle. Develop tracking standards and review actual results versus benchmark/target with full analyses of any variances. Working with the Risk teams in the countries in evaluating policy change requests and in the implementation and execution of policies.
- Identify new opportunities by constantly reevaluating old credit policies and processes. Design and execute tests that will enable future growth, strategy optimization, expense savings, or process enhancements.
- Coordinating all approval requests with Region. Work with Regional and Global risk teams to share information, share advances / new ideas, understand policies, and optimize programs. Understand and be the local expert on the Global Consumer Credit and Fraud Risk Polices.
- Work cross-functionally with key business partners to support all acquisition and product strategies that will enable us to make the best risk/reward decisions. Ensure that credit policies and strategy are in line with the business objectives.
- Ensuring compliance with Global Policy and relevant risk related regulations; ensuring compliance with local regulation. Ensure that the adequate infrastructure (scorecards, systems, validations, MIS etc) is in place to properly manage the portfolio.
- Manage, develop and monitor scoring and non-scoring models. Ensure AECB schema changes, related to all their services i.e. BULK & ALERTS are accurately executed, while continuously testing the cost-benefit from AECB Scores / Other Indicators to utilize in our strategies.
- Champion all Scoring Strategy analysis delivery and implementations. To take ownership of score and non-score monitoring MIS and validations and conduct quarterly scoring reviews.
- Managing, training and developing a team of risk professionals.

**Qualifications**:

- 10 years’ experience in Consumer Risk Management and 5 years’ experience in managing Cards Policy.
- Strong Analytical skills and excellent analytical thinking. Great emphasis on big picture, but with the ability to dig into data and perform root cause analysis. Understand statistical and economic relevance of results. Be a data-oriented thinker that uses the available information to data mine and find opportunities.
- Manage risk on a pro-active base, able to understand the influence of external factors. Theories, assumptions, limitations and goals behind stress and scenario analyses. Understand and interpret the local market and the difference amongst them.
- Able to make decisions by gathering the appropriate information available with a focus on deadlines.
- Develop and implement customer centric credit policies.
- Ability to manage self and projects effectively in a high pressure organization with multiple deadlines.
- Excellent ability to develop partnerships across multiple business and functional areas.
