**Job Summary**

The Category Advisor - Capex & Repairs is responsible for the repair and availability of capital spares for the assigned region or equipment category.This position is required to execute all assigned new and repair procurement projects within the required timeframe and budget whilst ensuring compliance with company procedures.

**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**
- Execution of purchase orders supporting equipment repairs and new equipment acquisition
- Support business needs by providing budgetary estimates for repair or purchase of capital equipment
- Continuously identify and utilize expense management opportunities within area of accountability by means of new vendor development, inventory utilization, rationalization of workscopes, etc. in order to deliver value
- Ownership of all awarded purchase order contracts, by resolving causes of delays and allowing for progression of order cycle from time of quote request until remittance of payment.
- Actively participate in the review and execution of annual supply chain managed budgets concerning the repair and procurement of capital equipment
- Actively participate in requirements to obtain quotes in support of company tender responses
- Maintain accurate tracking records of company property in company’s tracking systems for all onshore capital equipment
- Coordinate onshore movements of company equipment as required
- Remain current on company repair specification, API guidelines, and other industry regulations that impact repair of capital equipment
- Ensure documentation (data books, user manuals, etc.) are obtained prior to close out of purchase orders, as applicable
- Tracking and updating of all equipment at repair and service centers
- Coordination of hold points for FATs are scheduled
- Periodic review and follow up with operations in order to understand upcoming repair activities
- Updating of Valaris’ asset management system, ensuring accurate record keeping of assets’ location and condition
- In conjunction with materials specialists, review regional spare inventory levels to ensure adequate spares of critical equipment are on hand
- Performs Buyer “on call” duties on assigned intervals and performs other duties and special projects as required.
- Available for afterhours/weekend/holiday calls for Supply Chain support.

**Qualifications / Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business, or related discipline is preferred.
- Minimum five years of Supply Chain Management experience
- APICS Certified Fellow in Production and Inventory Management (CFPIM) and/or ISM Certified Profession in Supply Management (CPSM) preferred.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years progressive employment in the oil drilling or the oilfield service industry

**Skills & Experience**
- Knowledge of drilling equipment used by drilling contractors.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency and proven communication skills.
- Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment.
- Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
- Available and willingness to travel to such locations and with such frequency as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
- Committed to a high standard of safety and will and able to comply with all safety laws and all of the employer’s safety policies and rules. Must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel.
- Effective communication, team working and organizational skills. Good interpersonal skills.
- Excellent conflict resolution skills and be able to diplomatically handle confrontation.
- Exercise sound judgments and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.
- Maintain flexible attitude and approach towards assignments and successfully operate under ambiguous guidelines.
- Maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer’s sole discretion.
- PC proficiency required. Working knowledge of current Microsoft Office software suite version.
- Perform duties onsite, except those job duties which are customarily or by their nature performed offsite (such as off-site meetings with customers at their request or for marketing purposes, making deliveries to designated destinations, traveling to field offices to meet with superiors/peers/subordinates or attend/conduct training, etc).
- Work effectively alone or as part of a team on projects.
- Rig Pass, Helicopter Underwater Egress Training and other safety training as required for offshore rig visits preferred.
