Job Purpose

Perform day-to-day activities to Support timely and accurate closing of books and reporting in accordance with Abu Dhabi Port’s group policies and procedures, and in conformity with IFRS.

Job objectives include:

- Support sub module teams on accounting matters.
- Maintain General Ledger accounting functionalities to ensure accuracy of data.
- Ensure accounting is in line with Abu Dhabi Ports policies and procedures.
- Timely closing of books on a monthly basis as per management directions.
- Accurate and timely reporting to management on standard and adhoc requirements.
- Coordinate audits & reviews and reporting.
- Prepare regular schedules and reconciliations.
- Being focal point for GL by completing requirements for international business which includes setting up financial system, chart of accounts, etc. and ensuring a smooth transfer of book balances.

Key Responsibilities
- Accounting and Financial records.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and other reporting standards for the preparation of Financial Accounting records and reports.
- Prepare & process manual Journals for the month/year end closing.
- Review and maintain accruals information.
- Responsible for reviewing & reconciling financial data relating to sub modules.
- Support accounting functions for all submodules.
- Ensuring data accuracy and timely closing of books.
- Prepare consolidation JVs and eliminations.
- Review and incorporation of subsidiary books data to ERP.
- Maintain intercompany accounting & related eliminations.
- Maintain encumbrance opening and periodic review adjustments.
- Checks and verifications.
- Check and validate all proposed monthly journals from other subsystems at the GL level before posting.
- Timely Checking of completeness and accuracy of inter-company transactions.
- Review and validate data from subsidiaries for consolidation of books.
- Match subsidiary intercompany accounting data.

Key Interaction
- Reconciliation of control account with sub modules.
- Submit monthly reconciliation pack for approval.
- Support Treasury for bank reconciliations.

Required Qualification and Experience
- Accounting Degree.
- Knowledge on ERP, preferably Oracle financials.
- Good Analytical interpersonal skills.
- Professional competencies and flexible approach.
