The Operations Manager atEmirates Park Zoo & Resort will be responsible foroverseeing and managing the daily operations of the zoo ensuringseamless integration between the two. The role involves managingthe operational staff ensuring that safety cleanliness andhighquality customer service are maintained and achieving financialand operational goals. The Operations Manager will also work toensure that the zoo meet the expectations of visitors whileadhering to legal safety and environmentalstandards.

Duties& Responsibilities:

  • Overseeand manage all operational aspects of the zoo including guestservices hospitality maintenance and safetyprocedures.
  • Ensure smooth andefficient operations across the zoo from opening to closing whilemanaging staffing resources andschedules.
  • Coordinate with variousdepartments (e.g. guest services maintenance F&B) to ensureseamless guestexperiences.
  • Implement and monitorstandard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance operationalefficiency and servicequality.
  • Ensure that all activitiescomply with relevant health safety and environmentalregulations.
  • Lead motivate andmanage a diverse team of operational staff including supervisorsand frontline workers.
  • Conductregular performance reviews offer training and ensure all staff areequipped with the skills to perform their roleseffectively.
  • Schedule and assigndaily tasks to staff ensuring adequate coverage and that guestneeds are met.
  • Foster a positive andproductive work environment resolving any staffing or operationalissues quickly andeffectively.
  • Maintain a focus ondelivering excellent guest service ensuring high levels of customersatisfaction inzoo.
  • Handle guest complaints andfeedback in a professional manner and implement solutions forimprovement.
  • Ensure the cleanlinessand safety of guest areas amenities and animalenclosures.
  • Oversee the managementof tours educational programs events and activities to enhanceguest engagement.
  • Develop and managebudgets for operations working closely with the finance team tocontrol costs and improveprofitability.
  • Monitor expensesmanage inventories and ensure efficient use of resources to meetfinancial targets.
  • Analyzeoperational data and performance metrics to identify areas forcostsaving or revenuegeneratingopportunities.
  • Ensure that allfacilities are safe clean and functioning optimally coordinatingwith the maintenance team asneeded.
  • Manage vendor relationshipsfor supplies services and maintenanceneeds.
  • Assist in the development ofshort and longterm operational strategies in line with theorganization s goals andobjectives.
  • Generate regularoperational reports for senior management on performance includingguest satisfaction financial and staffproductivity.
  • Participate inplanning and executing marketing promotional and special events toincrease attendance and customerengagement.
  • Ensure that all healthand safety protocols are followed in zoo.
  • Maintain compliance with localnational and international standards for animal welfare andhospitality operations.
  • Oversee themanagement of emergency procedures ensuring all staff are trainedand prepared for varioussituations.

Qualifications/Experience:

Bachelor degreein Management or related field ispreferred.

Atleast 5 years of relatedexperience.

Goodcommunication skills an enthusiasm for interacting with the publicand a willingness to give regular talks to visitors special groupsetc.

Must be willingto work weekends and holidays and some eveningevents.

Must be able towork outdoors in inclementweather.

English is mustArabic ispreferred.

Must be willingto work with different cultures andnationalities.

Good judgment inevaluating situations and makingdecisions.

Exemplifies thehighest standard of workethics.

Ability tohandle stressful situations with professionalism andtact.

Knowledge ofanimal care and wildlife management is anadvantage.

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous cashier or customerservice experience is preferred. Strong communication skills inEnglish; additional languages are a plus.
