Roles and responsibilities

  • APursuits Lead is a strategicleadership role within organizations, typically in industries likeconstruction, engineering, architecture, consulting, or anybusiness that involves bidding for contracts or large projects. Therole focuses on overseeing and driving the pursuit of new businessopportunities, including preparing and managing responses totenders, proposals, and bids. The Pursuits Lead works closely withsenior management, business development teams, and technicalexperts to develop compelling proposals that align with thecompany's goals and win newprojects.

  • Identifying and evaluatingpotential opportunities and markets
  • Leading thepositioning, planning, development, and submission of large scaleand complex strategic pursuits
  • Team leadershipof proposal managers and bid writers
  • Developingand executing clear win strategies
  • Ensuring ourproposals meet the highest standard of accuracy, professionalism,and compliance driving high win rates
  • Serve asthe gatekeeper for work winning governance and processesinternally
  • Cultivate and maintain strongrelationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners,and internal teams.

  • Bachelor's degree inBusiness, Engineering, or a relatedfield
  • Proven experience in leading high-value,multidisciplinary engineering, consultancy, and advisory proposalsin a similar industry.
  • Strong commercial acumenwith a good understanding of pricingstrategies
  • Excellent project management skillswith the ability to manage multiple proposalssimultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication andinterpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiateeffectively.
  • Detailed knowledge of, andexperience in, the market and industry trends in the Middle Eastregion.

.Strategic PursuitPlanning

  • IdentifyNew Opportunities: Actively identify and assess newbusiness opportunities, including upcoming tenders, requests forproposals (RFPs), and invitations to bid (ITBs) that align with thecompany's capabilities and strategicgoals.
  • MarketResearch: Conduct research to understand markettrends, client needs, and competitor strategies. Use thisinformation to inform the pursuitstrategy.
  • OpportunityQualification: Work with business development andproject teams to qualify opportunities, ensuring they fit thecompany's strengths and strategicvision.

2. ProposalManagement andCoordination

  • LeadProposal Development: Oversee the creation anddevelopment of high-quality proposals, ensuring that all aspects ofthe proposal are aligned with the client's requirements,the company's strengths, and industrystandards.
  • TeamLeadership: Coordinate a multidisciplinary team(including technical experts, finance, legal, marketing, and otherdepartments) to compile the necessary information for theproposal.
  • ContentCreation: Ensure that the proposal content is clear,persuasive, and professional. This includes writing, reviewing, andediting content such as the executive summary, approach,qualifications, and projecttimelines.
  • TimelineManagement: Manage proposal timelines, ensuring thatall deliverables are submitted on time, meeting the requirements ofthe client and the internal team.

3.Client and StakeholderEngagement

  • ClientRelationship Building: Develop and maintain strongrelationships with potential clients, stakeholders, and partners tounderstand their needs, preferences, andexpectations.
  • Engage in ClientMeetings: Participate in meetings and discussionswith clients to understand their project needs and requirements, aswell as to showcase the company's capabilities andapproach.
  • Presentations andPitching: Lead or support in the preparation anddelivery of presentations and pitches to clients, ensuring that thecompany's offering is compelling anddifferentiated.

4.Collaboration with Business Development and TechnicalTeams

  • Coordinatewith Technical Experts: Work closely withengineering, design, legal, and financial teams to gather thenecessary technical and financial information to prepare accurateand competitive proposals.
  • Alignwith Business Strategy: Ensure that proposals alignwith the company's broader business development strategy,resource availability, and marketpositioning.
  • GatherInputs: Collaborate with various internal teams togather inputs on pricing, project execution plans, risk analysis,and potential resource requirements for theproposal.

5. Bid Reviewand QualityAssurance

  • ProposalReview: Lead internal reviews of proposals, ensuringthey are of high quality, technically accurate, and fully compliantwith clientrequirements.
  • ComplianceChecks: Ensure that all submissions meet legal,regulatory, and contractualrequirements.
  • Risk and ValueProposition: Assess and identify risks in the bidand incorporate strategies to mitigate those risks, whilehighlighting the company's valueproposition.
