Daily responsibilities include supporting our Head Chef in Hot & Cold Kitchen, creating, costing and cooking recipes, helping setting up creative menus and attractive displays, and preparing high-quality dishes suited to an international, multicultural student community, which include Mis an Place, Live Station Days, setting up fresh Salad and Sandwich Bars, Daily Buffet, Grab & Go items and varied interesting and exciting "streetfood" style menus in line with current food trends.

We also do a lot of corporate hospitality events, therefore knowledge of canape and hospitality setup will be an advantage

You should be familiar with Health and food safety Regulations, with a strong focus on kitchen safety compliance and able to work fast, clean and smart

If you have experience with varied cooking techniques and non-traditional ingredients, we'd like to meet you.

Ultimately, you'll support our team to prepare and deliver a complete menu and cafe and restaurant service experience that ensures our students prefer to dine on site and work with the site manager to ensure the service exceeds expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the kitchen efficiently in chef's absence
  • Control food costs and budgets.
  • Ensure appealing, healthy and fresh displays and presentation
  • Assisting in creating amazing and live station days that includes international dishes like Mexican days, Noodle Bar, BBQ days, Poke, buddha Bowls,
  • Engagement with students and campus community to understand their preferences and expectations
  • Work closely with the Headchef to create and deliver an amazing and exciting on site dining facility
  • Slightly modify recipes to meet customers' needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy/gluten/vegan options
  • Monitor food stock and place orders
  • Cook with a focus on "trendy" modern, creative, streetfood style dishes
  • Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area

Skills

  • Proven work experience as a Chef or Cook in a multi national kitchen
  • Handson experience with various kitchen equipment
  • Great communication skills and a good command of English language
  • Ability to remain calm, organized under pressure
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Uptodate knowledge of modern and " on trend " cooking techniques and recipes
  • Culinary training is an advantage
  • Experience in hospitality functions and events catering preparation & presentation

Salary:
Up to AED3,500.00 per month
