Loss Prevention – Audit Assistant

Reports to: Senior Manager – Corporate Finance

Job Purpose:

  • spot checks, audits, analysis of transaction data at retail outlets (boutiques and cafes) and factory to detect issues and ensure policies and programs to reduce loss are implemented.
  • the Loss Prevention team in periodic audits and adherence to SOPs and evaluate processes and procedures to identify control weaknesses and gaps which could result in loss.
  • procedures and programs to mitigate losses and remediate internal control weaknesses.

Key Accountabilities:

  • spot checks, audits, analysis of transaction data at retail outlets (boutiques and cafes) and factory to detect issues and ensure policies and programs to reduce loss are implemented.
  • the Loss Prevention team in periodic audits and adherence to SOPs and evaluate processes and procedures to identify control weaknesses and gaps which could result in loss.

Key Accountabilities:

  • and monitor sales and collection management at retail outlets by verifying collection reconciliation with sales, ensuring affidavits in place, security of the cash safe and Till drawer.
  • physical verification of cash at retail outlets and Factory for petty cash, float, cash sales.
  • to verify physical count process of inventory on sample basis at every month end at random retail outlets and warehouse.
  • inventory variances, adjustments and audit process around returned/ damaged goods, transfer orders, expiry control.
  • discounts provided at each location and audit transactions with higher discounts to ensure proper approval and controls.
  • into suspended, void, refund, open transactions in POS.
  • LP team to formulate audit checklists for audit of each functional department including Supply chain, Production and other support functions.
  • LP team to ensure SOPs are adhered to across locations and standardized.
  • SOPs where necessary after review and gap analysis.
  • physical verification of capital assets once a year across all locations.
  • CCTV surveillance to gather any evidence for potential theft or fraud.
  • as required any incidents or exceptional transactions/ activities
  • Access rights of all users of the POS, to ensure only authorized personnel is performing exceptional tasks.
  • weekly audit observations to LP team for each location with action plan.

Experience requirement:

  • Minimum 1-3 years' Loss Prevention/ Profit protection or internal audit experience in Retail, F&B industry, Manufacturing/ Supply chain and other support functions.
  • Proficient report writing skills.
  • Proficiency in both verbal and written English Language

Qualification and Licenses requirement:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Commerce
  • Preferably a diploma or certification in Internal audit
  • Preferably with valid UAE Driving License (Car)
