About the role

TheProcurement & Logistics Manager will provide an accountmanagement service to the nominated business areas at EmiratesGroup ensuring that best practice procurement techniques areadopted to achieve lowest cost of ownership and that agreed servicelevels are achieved.

What you will do

  • Providesupport to the Vice President Procurement & Logistics(Services) and Manager Procurement & Logistics bydeveloping and implementing strategies to deliver the lowest totalcost of ownership for acquisition of capital goods or serviceitems.
  • Ownership ofauthorising supply orders and contracts for values up to AED 100k.Responsible for analysing and preparing contract values that exceedthis financial limit reports & makes recommendations forreview & approval at Manager P&L VP & SVPlevel.
  • Manage and provideguidance to a team of subject matter experts to provide a fullservice procurement function within agreed service levels toCustomer Departments.
  • Ensure that the sourcingprequalification and evaluation of suppliers is carried out as percompany standards/policies to assess what services and productsthey are qualified to provide thereby ensuring that the correctproducts and services are available.
  • Develop tender documentsand lead crossfunctional teams to produce detailed specifications(where appropriate in conjunction with Legal and other departments)to subsequently issue tender to obtain equal and competitivequotations.
  • Account managesprovide expert advice to customer departments during product designphase in order to optimise value for money to the Emirates Group.
  • Negotiate contract pricesand terms and conditions where business impact/value/risk is deemedhigh to ensure that Emirates Groups best contractual and commercialposition is attained. Ensure that supply and commercial risk isminimised.
  • Partner withCustomer Departments at all times to ensure that the CustomerDepartment is fully involved in the procurement process. Developsuccessful partnerships with SVP VP & Grade 10 levels toensure effective supplier selection.
  • Proactively search for andidentify opportunities for cost reduction wherever possible.Benchmark the performance of their sections against availablestatistics/indicators and identify areas for improvement. This willinclude knowledge of technical advances market developments andother relevant changes in the supply market.
  • Critically evaluate reportsgenerated by reporting staff to assess performance of theirrespective sections and take corrective action whererequired.

Qualifications& Experience: This job might be for you if you have:

  • Bachelorsor Masters degree in Procurement/Contract Management or a relatedsubject
  • 10 years experienceof Procurement/Contact Management with IT / Technology categorysourcing
  • 10 years ofexperience in commercial and contract negotiations role procurementtechniques ideally with financial acumen within the P&Ldepartment of a large organization or for an independent ITsolutions supplier.
  • Qualifications with MCIPSis required
  • Knowledge ofthe aviation industry project management and analytical skills ispreferable.
  • Knowledge of ITproducts an understanding of IT organization structures and theirinterrelationships in delivering service to customers.
  • Awareness of prevalent ITproduct and service methodologies and their basis/financialimplications.
  • Ability andexperience in managing end to end sourcing process for technologiesinclude Cloud Quantum Automation Robotics Analytics Data CentresData Science Cyber Security and more. It smooths the journey tocomplete the tasks or achieve the goals and optimize the ROI.
  • Indepth knowledge ofpreparing and reviewing IT contracts Price Models negotiating keycommercial and contractual terms.
  • Strategic management skillwith indepth knowledge of the market and offer insights toorganisation like market size projected growth competitors industrytrend etc.
  • Ability tosystematically analyse complex problems draw relevant conclusionsand implement appropriate solutions.
  • Strong verbal and writtenskills and ability to convey complex information in a way thatothers can readily follow.
  • Good negotiating persuasiveand interpersonal skills both in oneonone and group situations.Ability to apply creative thinking to solveproblems.
