Aldar Academies are seeking aFacilities & Services Officer for Bateen World Academycommencing Immediately.

Al Bateen Academy islocated in the center of the city of Abu Dhabi and is a hugelypopular school based in a vibrant community. The school is a highachieving British and IB World School (Years 7 to 13) easilyexceeding IB Diploma global averages year on year and achievingoutstanding I/GCSE results. The school recently expanded intoprimary years starting with FS2 to Year 3 and developed this yearto include a full primary provision FS2 to Year 6. The PrimaryYears Programme (PYP) is an exciting addition and provides thecommunity with an all through school experience from FS1 to Year 13offering PYP UK and IB Diploma options.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum diploma / degree ofhigher education; or
• Related industryqualification of graduate level for the assigned functionalarea(s).
• Certificate of Facilities Management/ NEBOSH or IOSH preferable.

Minimum ExperienceMinimum Experience

• At least 3 years experiencein a midlevel position within an education or facilities serviceoriented industry.

MainDuties

• To be responsiblefor the delivery of facilities and general services across theSchool. Delivering a service culture and ensuring efficienteffective staff and resource deployment in timely manner.
• To ensure the school facilities are maintainedto the highest standards (cleanliness maintenance and safety) andthat the support service teams are performing effectively andefficiently.
• To oversee the schoolaccommodation requirements ensuring staff are housed in accordancewith school expectations Aldar Education housing policy andallowances.
• To oversee efficient andcosteffective purchasing and contracting in accordance with theschool budget Aldar Education policy and school development plans.

Specific Duties

General Operations

• To ensure all repairs andmaintenance at the School including the inspection of requiredrepairs and where necessary the appointment of external serviceproviders in line with Aldar Education HQ guidance and AldarEducation Procurement framework and ensuring agreed works by staffor contractors have been completed satisfactorily and following upon any deficiencies to the initial scope of works.
• To ensure the security and efficient operationof the school site buildings and grounds at all times in accordancewith current Health & Safety guidance ensuring daily checksof the site are carried out by the site services team for vandalismand ensuring cleaning standards are acceptable.
• Implementation of issued policies systemsprocesses and student safeguarding measures in conjunction with theAldar Education HQ.
• To ensure schoolbasedevents and activities are effectively planned and resourced in atimely and appropriate manner.
• Ensureessential central services such as catering security maintenancecleaning transport waste disposal and recycling are effectivelyplanned and resourced throughout the year and be the point ofcontact for external services management.
• Support the OSM in utilisation of space andresources for buildings or reorganisation of current premises.
• To ensure daily monitoring of the BMS and BMSalert systems (where installed) are carried out amongst the siteservices team.
• To support the OSM (and GroupHousing Manager) in procuring and maintaining the Aldar Educationstandards of staff accommodation (where required).
• To act as the designated school IncidentCommander and be contactable outside of normal School hoursavailable to attend site when required in line with the AldarEducation Critical Incident Response Protocols.

Leadership &Management

• To ensure theexternal support service teams are performing in line with schoolexpectations fully resourced and delivering on their contractualobligations delivering best value for the school and high standardsof service for the school community.
• Managethe facilities and general service teams to ensure high standardsof service are maintained throughout the School and that theyprovide an effective service culture.
• Ensureeach member of the Facilities & General Services teampartakes in professional development appraisal and training andundergoes an individual development plan to help the school inbuilding a highperformance team.

Finance Commercial& Procurement

• Tooversee relevant budgets and expenditure effectively manage costsand ensure the School receives best value and service at all timesin relation to facilities and building standards.
• To support opportunities for shared resourcecost and/or services across partner schools to ensure that theschools benefit from improved access to service teams and physicalresources (ie support staff transport etc).
• Ensure purchasing policy and the Delegation ofAuthority (DOA) processes and procedures are followed at all times.

Relationship &Stakeholder Management

• Ensure that schools arefully compliant with local government authority regulations tosafeguard against fines of any nature as a result of nonrenewal ofcontracts at school level.
• Ensure all internaland external audit actions are completed in a timely andappropriate manner.

HealthSafety & Environment

• To promote a positive andproactive health and safety culture throughout their teams forhealth and safety.
• To ensure the schoolcomplies with current Health & Safety legislation and/orguidelines as issued by Aldar Education HQ.
• Toreview and monitor the health and safety performance of contractorsand suppliers within their respective schools.
• To support the OSM with environmental relatedaims and objectives and ensuring that they are delivered within therequired timelines.
• Ensure all internal andexternal health safety and environmental related audits areeffectively completed in a timely and appropriatemanner
