At IFF we design fragrance solutions that catch us unaware and transport us to places long forgotten. We are now seeking a motivated and result driven talent to join our Scent division as Senior Perfumer for the Consumer Fragrances division. Come join IFF where science and creativity meet to create essential solutions for a better world

 

As a Senior Perfumer, you are skilled at executing customer strategy, showing proficiency in IFF capabilities. You can co-develop with global teams, creating new features while addressing customer’s needs with a focus on Fabric Care category. 

 

The candidate will report to the Creative Center Manager and be based in our brand-new Scent Creative Center in Dubai, UAE.  

 

 

Key responsibilities

 

 

Fragrance Creation 

 

•    Translate consumer needs them into successful creation ;
•    Understand and formulates according to regulatory restraints ;
•    Interpret other perfumers’ formula and be skillful to reformulate it ;
•    Create fragrances and win with own signature.

 

Perfumery Fundamentals 

 

•    Use captive, strategic IFF ingredients and naturals ;
•    Know the smell, the performance, the stability and the long lastingness of single ingredients. 
•    Adapt a fragrance from one base to another in different categories.

 

Perfumery Knowledge 

 

•    Address stability issues and understands technical challenges involved in formulations ;
•    Understand the market trend, evolutions, size and segmentation ;
•    Understand laboratory work at application level and fragrance compounding.

 

Leadership 

 

•    Project management skills ;
•    Presents results, interpretations and defend point of view related to the creative strategy from a senior perfumer’s perspective

 

Job Requirements

 


 Required Skills: 

 

• Excellent olfactive communication skills which supports the overall creative process – discriminate, describe (association) and odor memory 
• Ability to effectively identify potential fragrance or technology solutions based on market relevance
• Solid understanding of market/consumer trends and consumer behaviors/ preferences (knowledge of the Middle Eastern fragrance landscape preferred)
• Fragrance ingredient and technology understanding to facilitate communication with technical teams and perfumers
• Technical understanding of Fabric Care fragrance formulations 
• Strong project management skills, disciplined and process oriented
• Open minded, strong agility and shows courage
• Ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment 
• Commercial mindset, bottom line oriented 
• Team player, ability to motivate others towards a common goal to achieve results  
• Excellent influencing skills across all levels within the organization
• Fluent in English (Arabic is a plus)

 

 

 Required Experience: 

 

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Perfumery, Science, Chemistry, Consumer Science, Product Research or any other relevant discipline
• Minimum 8-10 years working experience in the industry, in an international environment
