RedFIn Aquarium Deisgn is currently looking for a newly created role as Head of Projects within its English-speaking office in Dubai.

We are a growing company working in the aquatics industry. We design, build, deliver and manage aquariums all over the world, including Middle East and Africa, Europe, Hong Kong (Head Office), APAC and US.

You must have an excellent command of written and spoken English as you will be handling communications with our clients, customers, partners and suppliers directly across the world.

Role:

The Head of Projects' role will lead, manage and deliver the smooth running of all projects from c. USD 30k to USD 4M+.

You will be responsible for the organisation and communication of project details to our in-house team of project coordinators, design managers installation managers and maintenance team, as well as senior management and various third parties. You will be accountable for each project running smoothly, on time, meeting quality expectations and within budget.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Lead and manage the delivery of multiple aquarium construction projects, concurrently

  • Manage project timelines and assign tasks to team members, ensuring each individual delivers their task as per project requirements

  • Implement and manage project management tools and systems, ensuring compliance from team members

  • Produce and manage accurate project schedules, procurement documents and material specifications for each project and / or contract

  • Plan and manage logistics for the timely and cost-effective transport of goods and materials, including sourcing, due diligence and management of reliable shipping partners (with the support of internal team where needed)

  • Procurement – oversee the procurement team to ensure that parts are of high quality, delivered on time and from cost effective partners

  • Communicate with third parties, control budget, manage vendor contracts and their liabilities

  • Track and communicate project risks and opportunities

  • Coordinate internal and external meetings, providing regular Management updates

  • Organise weekly team meetings, recording and communicating minutes with key accountability tasks to the team

  • Maintain accurate project documentation (internal and external)

  • Understand Company financial obligations, liaising with Management to ensure timely and cost efficient delivery of project milestones

  • Prepare presentation materials for bids and proposals

  • Build and maintain an accurate database of service providers, partners and materials

  • Assist any other ad-hoc duties

Qualifications and Skills Requirements:

  • Degree calibre individual with at least 5 years in a project related role (eg. Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, Construction Manager)

  • Experience in the built environment sector, with strong preference towards construction / civil engineering (other relevant sectors may include interior design, design & build, engineering, fit-out, etc or potentially logistics)

  • Some experience/ knowledge of aquatics systems (eg swimming pools, aquariums) would be advantageous, but not essential

  • Ability to effectively influence a team to ensure timely completion of tasks to high quality standards

  • Experience in procurement

  • Excellent written and spoken English is essential

  • Knowledge of project management tools advantageous (eg. Asana, Trello, Basecamp or similar)

  • Good interpersonal skills and capability to work with all levels of people

  • Good team player, self-motivated, independent, responsible and well-organised

Candidates with less experience may be considered for a Senior Project Manager role.

Job Type: Full-time

Hours: Typically Monday to Friday, hours between 9am and 7pm (eg. 9am-6pm or 10am-7pm).

Weekends and PH not required as standard, but may be required on occasion to meet project deadlines

This is an immediately available role.
