The Estimator / Senior Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for marble, granite, and stone works for projects. This role ensures correct pricing, proper material take-offs, and timely submission of quotations to support project wins and profitable execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimation & Costing

  • Study tender drawings, BOQs, specifications, and client requirements carefully.
  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for marble, granite, quartz, and other stone works.
  • Calculate material, labour, machinery, wastage, transport, and installation costs accurately.
  • Prepare competitive and realistic cost estimates and quotations.
  • Review supplier and subcontractor quotations and compare prices.

Tender & Proposal Support

  • Assist in preparing tender submissions within the given deadlines.
  • Clarify scope, exclusions, assumptions, and risks clearly in the quotation.
  • Coordinate with sales, projects, factory, and site teams for technical inputs.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when required.

Vendor & Market Coordination

  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for updated prices and availability.
  • Maintain a database of material rates, suppliers, and past project costs.
  • Track market price trends for stone materials and related services.

Project Handover & Support

  • Support smooth handover from estimation to execution team after project award.
  • Assist the project team with cost clarifications and variations during execution.
  • Prepare variation estimates and additional cost proposals when required.

Senior Estimator – Additional Responsibilities

  • Review and validate estimates prepared by junior estimators.
  • Guide and mentor junior estimation team members.
  • Improve estimation processes, formats, and cost controls.
  • Support management in budgeting and commercial decision-making.
Desired Candidate Profile
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
  • Specialized experience in marble, granite, stone, or interior fit-out is mandatory.
  • Estimator: Minimum 3–5 years of relevant estimation experience.
  • Senior Estimator: Minimum 6–10 years of relevant estimation experience in UAE/GCC.
  • Strong knowledge of marble, granite, stone fixing methods, and finishes.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications clearly.
  • Good knowledge of UAE construction practices and market rates.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
