Role Description

The Tanker Brokers are responsible for arranging the best possible deal for the vessels, while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The Tanker Brokers assess the viability of new business opportunities and maintains a strong working relationship with existing clients and customers to ensure service standards are add to. They work with the in-house post-fixture to solve day-to-day issues and oversees the implementation of workflow improvements, guides and provides on-the-job coaching to the trainee ones.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Chartering & Brokering Activities

o Find ships for specific employment

o Find cargo, charterer, time charter & voyage charter for the vessels

o Ensure compliance with port and flag state regulations, and shipments terms

o Negotiate spot fixtures / time charters to facilitate chartering operations

o Develop business unit plans

  • Grow chartering business

o Analyze market data to identify business opportunities

o Evaluate recommendations for potential business opportunities

o Analyze risks of potential business opportunities

  • Service Client Accounts

o Manage contracts with charterers, ship owners and other Shipbrokers within the team

o Manage issue arising from servicing client accounts

Qualifications

  • Possess minimum 3 years of working experience in Brokering business of tanker
  • Willing to relocate and work in our Dubai office
  • Articulate and discuss ideas and persuade others to achieve common outcomes
  • Detect and decipher emotions of others to manage interpersonal relationships in social situations
  • Contribute to a positive and cooperative working environment by fulfilling own responsibilities and providing support to co-workers to achieve team goals
  • Anticipate customer needs and expectations and elicit feedback from customers to improve service Build relationships with customers to create and sustain customer loyalty

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency with Vessel Sale and Purchase is preferred
  • Knowledge of Vessel Operations is preferred
