We are a leading global Agri commodity trading company, and we are seeking a Chartering Manager to join our Dubai team and take ownership of our grain shipments on Ultramax and Panamax vessels.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional who thrives in negotiations, market analysis, and vessel optimization within a fast-paced global trading environment.
What You'll Be Doing
As Chartering Manager, you will manage the full chartering cycle, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective movement of grain cargoes worldwide:
- Chartering & Negotiation
- Lead chartering activities for voyage, time charters, and COAs.
- Negotiate and finalize main terms with owners, brokers, and operators.
- Draft and review charter parties (CPs) and ensure clean recap accuracy.
- Vessel & Cargo Matching
- Identify suitable vessels (Handy – Supra – Ultramax – Panamax – Kamsarmax) to match cargo stems.
- Provide cargo stems to brokers/owners and monitor vessel positions globally.
- Nominate vessels to shippers/receivers for acceptance and obtain necessary approvals.
- Voyage Evaluation & Market Insight
- Prepare voyage evaluations and freight calculations to optimize efficiency.
- Monitor global freight market trends and provide weekly market updates to traders.
- Advise traders on freight guidance for both spot and forward cargoes.
- Operational Follow-up
- Coordinate vessel screening with insurance and IMB.
- Manage the lifting of subjects and clean fixture confirmations.
- Collaborate closely with operations and trading teams to ensure smooth cargo delivery.
Who We're Looking For
- Experience: 5–8+ years in bulk shipping chartering, ideally with grain cargo.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of trade routes (ESCA, NOPAC, Black Sea) and freight market dynamics.
- Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and commercial acumen.
- Mindset: Proactive, detail-oriented, and thrives under pressure in a global trading environment.
