QA/QC LV Electrical Specialist – Containment

Position Overview

The LV Electrical Specialist – Containment & Cabling is responsible for performing QA/QC oversight of LV electrical containment, cabling, and termination works within a mission-critical project. The role ensures that all LV systems including power feeders, submain cables, distribution circuits, earthing/bonding, and associated containment systems are installed according to IFC/Shop Drawings, ITPs, project specifications, and industry standards.

This position requires a relevant engineering degree and immediate availability due to project urgency.

Key Responsibilities

1. LV Containment QA/QC

Inspect and verify installation of LV containment systems including:

• Cable trays
• Trunking
• Ladder racks
• Conduits
• Underfloor and overhead containment
• Ensure containment is installed with proper support spacing, alignment, level, and routing.
• Confirm compliance with IFC drawings, approved shop drawings, manufacturer specs, and project related standards.

2. LV Cabling QA/QC

• Inspect cable pulling activities for LV feeders, submains, and distribution circuits.
• Verify correct cable dressing, spacing, bundling, tagging, and routing.
• Ensure cable segregation between power, ELV, and mechanical systems per project requirements.
• Confirm proper termination preparation, glands, lugs, ferrules, and protection measures.

3. Pre-Commissioning Readiness

Conduct pre-commissioning inspections for LV systems including:

• Continuity checks
• Insulation resistance (IR) checks
• Correct identification and labeling
• Cabinet/DB preparation and cleanliness
• Verify earthing and bonding systems for all LV installations.
• Ensure readiness for energization in coordination with Electrical and Commissioning teams.

4. Documentation & QA/QC Controls

Prepare and/or maintain all QA/QC documentation including:

• Work Inspection Requests (WIRs)
• Material Inspection Requests (MIRs)
• Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
• Method statement and ITP compliance checks
• Daily inspection reports
• Track punch lists, corrective actions, and close-out activities.
• Support handover documentation and as-built verification.

5. Interface Coordination

• Coordinate with ELV, mechanical, civil, and commissioning teams to avoid clashes in containments and routing.
• Liaise with the Electrical Coordinator/Team Lead to resolve site issues, design discrepancies, or installation non-compliances.
• Assist subcontractors in achieving compliance with project quality requirements.

6. Compliance & Safety

Ensure compliance with:

• Local authority regulations
• IEC, BS, NEC, and relevant international LV electrical standards
• Project-specific quality protocols
• Promote safe work practices during cable pulling, containment installation, termination, and energization activities.

Qualifications & Experience

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Immediate availability to join the project.

Experience Requirements

• 3–8 years of LV electrical installation or QA/QC experience.
• Strong experience in:
• LV cable containment
• Trunking and tray installation
• LV cable pulling and termination
• QA/QC documentation and inspection workflows
• Experience in mission-critical facilities is highly preferred.
• Good understanding of ITPs, method statements, and electrical installation standards.

Work Environment

• Site-based role within data halls, electrical rooms (LV/MV), risers, underfloor containment zones, and external plant areas.
• Requires frequent inspections, walking between technical spaces, and working at heights/with ladders.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED7, AED8,500.00 per month
