Job Description:

Adjunct Faculty Position in Computer Science and Engineering (Industry Expert)

The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK), Department of Computer Science and Engineering, is seeking to hire an adjunct faculty member from industry for the Spring 2026 semester.

The adjunct will be responsible for teaching Embedded Systems and Computer Organization.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • Significant professional and industry experience in embedded systems, computer architecture, and hardware design.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching or strong potential to teach effectively at the undergraduate level.

The region:

Located at the mouth of the Gulf, Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) was once the historical capital of the region. RAK boasts many outdoor attractions, with plenty of places for leisure, water sports, hiking and mountain climbing, and other athletic pursuits, all within a safe and family-oriented environment. Away from frenzied traffic and rush of the larger cities, but still well-developed, RAK is a quiet but vibrant Emirate. It is an ideal location, for both those who want to relax and those who are more active away from work.
