The Design Architect is responsible for leading the creative vision and conceptual development of architectural projects. This role focuses on translating client requirements into innovative, functional, and aesthetically compelling designs while ensuring alignment with project goals, regulations, and sustainability principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural design from concept through schematic and design development phases
  • Develop design concepts, massing studies, and visual presentations
  • Collaborate with clients to understand needs, preferences, and project objectives
  • Produce and review drawings, sketches, 3D models, and renderings
  • Coordinate with project architects, engineers, consultants, and interior designers
  • Ensure designs comply with zoning codes, building regulations, and design standards
  • Participate in design reviews, client presentations, and stakeholder meetings
  • Provide creative direction and mentorship to junior design staff
  • Incorporate sustainable and innovative design strategies into projects

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture
  • Professional architectural license (or progress toward licensure, depending on firm requirements)
  • 5+ years of experience in architectural design (adjustable by seniority)
  • Strong design portfolio demonstrating conceptual and built work
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools
  • Strong understanding of architectural principles, materials, and construction methods
