What We're Looking For

We're seeking a hands-on Group Finance Manager who thrives in smaller, founder-led, or entrepreneurial environments - not someone shaped by corporate layers or presentation-heavy finance. You'll be the type who rolls up your sleeves, owns the numbers end-to-end, and works directly with banks, auditors, advisers, and outsourced accountants.

This role suits someone who enjoys being close to the detail, solving problems, managing cash, and ensuring everything reconciles perfectly to give the CEO clarity and control.

Key Responsibilities

1. Finance Operations


• Full ownership of group accounts, month-end close, reporting, and cash visibility.


• Ensure accurate consolidation of all group entities (UK, EU, UAE, etc.) with clean, timely monthly reporting.


• Manage outsourced accountants - but personally check, question, correct, and sign off the numbers.


• Maintain real-time cashflow, intercompany reconciliations, and currency oversight.


• Prepare clean, simple reporting for the CEO - not corporate decks.

2. Banking, Treasury & Payments


• Daily management of multi-currency bank accounts.


• Maintain mandates, access, controls, and banking relationships.


• Make payments yourself - not just instruct others.


• Maintain oversight of multi-currency cash positions and liaise with banks directly when required.


• Monitor FX and cash positions across all entities.

3. Consultant / Adviser Payments


• Own all fee split calculations and payments.


• Get them right the first time - no errors, no chasing, no excuses.


• 3–4 days of work a month, but accuracy and timeliness are essential - these payments affect trust and retention.

4. Audit, Compliance & Licences


• Liaise directly with auditors and outsourced accountants.


• Oversee VAT, filings, board resolutions, and licence renewals.


• Ensure VAT, licences, and filings are managed without escalation to the CEO.

5. Commercial Insight


• Provide the CEO with clear, actionable financial commentary.


• Identify where profits are made, where cash is tied up, and what can be improved.


• Communicate insights plainly - no jargon, just clarity.

Experience and Skills

  • 7 to 12 years in a finance role with real hands-on control.

  • Exposure to multiple entities or jurisdictions (international SME level ideal).

  • Professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) preferred, not mandatory if experience is stronger.

  • Strong Excel and working knowledge of accounting tools (Xero/QuickBooks etc.).

  • Can build trust quickly and keep information tight and confidential.

• You want a CFO-type advisory role – this is hands-on finance.
