Vice President –Product Development – Islamic Business Development

Job Purpose
:

Responsible for the development and managing of Sharia -compliance products across the bank's overseas operations.

The role ensures product innovation, competitiveness, profitability, full Sharia compliance and alignment with bank's strategic objectives, enabling sustainable growth of Islamic business within a conventional banking framework.

Key Responsibilities
:

Product Strategy and Development
:

  • Develop, enhance and manage the Islamic product across, Corporate, Treasury and retail segments for overseas branches & subsidiaries.
  • Design, structure, and implement innovative Sharia-Compliant products tailored to local market's needs, internal policies and procedures and regulatory framework.
  • Conduct product feasibility studies, profitability analysis, and business case approvals.
  • Lead the product approval and Sharia governance processes.

Coordination & Implementation
:

  • Liaise with overseas islamic units, operations, risk, legal and IT team for smooth rollout and implementation.
  • Monitor product performance, market competitiveness, and customer satisfaction.
  • Support digital and business transformation for islamic offerings.

Training and capacity building:

  • Provide product training and technical guidance to the business units.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master's degree in finance, Economics or Business, certification in Islamic finance ( CIPA , IFQ or AAOIFI ) preferred.
  • 10-15 years of banking experience including at lease 5 years in Islamic Product development or structuring .
  • In-depth understanding of islamic finance concepts, sharia compliance processes and AAOIFI standards .
