Commercial Chartering Executive

The Commercial Chartering Supervisor will be the primary engine for driving commercial growth by actively acquiring new clients and establishing a robust, stable client portfolio across the UAE. This role requires an aggressive, hands-on, and results-driven individual responsible for
"knocking doors"
and securing new business in both the
Chartering
(Breakbulk/Bulk cargo) and
Marine Supply/Agency
sectors. The successful candidate will leverage their commercial expertise and network to meet ambitious sales targets and significantly expand the company's market presence.

I. Business Development & Client Acquisition (Primary Focus)

  • Aggressive Outreach:
    Proactively identify, target, and acquire new clients for both chartering and marine supply/agency services across Dubai and the broader UAE market.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    Develop and maintain a solid list of stable, high-value clients to ensure sustainable revenue and repeat business.
  • "Door-Knocking" Cold Calls /Sales Strategy:
    Execute a highly proactive, face-to-face commercial strategy, cold-calling, and visiting potential clients (shippers, cargo owners, vessel owners, vessel agents).
  • Market Analysis:
    Stay informed of UAE market trends, competitor activities, and changes in shipping rates and regulations.

II. Chartering Operations & Sales

  • Cargo Acquisition:
    Target clients who require Breakbulk and Bulk vessels to ship their cargo (e.g., traders, industrial manufacturers, commodity houses).
  • Negotiation:
    Negotiate charter party terms under Management supervision , freight rates, and contractual agreements to maximize profitability while ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Coordination:
    Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure seamless execution of all secured charters.

III. Marine Supply & Agency Sales

  • Client Targeting:
    Focus sales efforts on vessel owners and vessel agents calling at UAE ports to offer marine supply, port agency, and related maritime services.
  • Service Promotion:
    Effectively market the company's full suite of services, including bunkering coordination, crew changes, provision supply, and documentation handling.

IV. Reporting & Strategy

  • Provide regular, detailed reports on sales activities, client pipeline status, market feedback, and progress toward commercial targets.
  • Contribute to the development of the overall commercial strategy for the UAE market.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum
    2-5 years
    Proven experience in
    Chartering (Breakbulk/Bulk)
    and/or
    Marine Agency/Supply sales
    is a significant advantage.
  • MUST
    have a verifiable track record of successful
    B2B business development and "hunting" for new clients
    in the UAE/GCC market.
  • Deep understanding of vessel types, charter party forms (e.g., Gencon), basic maritime law, port operations, and marine supply chain.

  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
    Fluent in English
    (verbal and written); Arabic is a strong asset.
