Hiring: Purchase Officer | Sharq Al Jazira

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Purchase Officer to join our steel trading team. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of steel products, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage suppliers efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and evaluate local and international suppliers for steel products
  • Request and compare quotations, negotiate pricing, and secure the best terms
  • Prepare accurate purchase orders with correct specifications and quantities
  • Monitor steel market trends, pricing, and product availability
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
  • Coordinate purchase deliveries with logistics and warehouse teams
  • Track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery
  • Maintain organized procurement records and supplier data
  • Review supplier performance and recommend improvements
  • Ensure all procurement activities follow company standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
  • Experience in steel trading, manufacturing, or industrial procurement (highly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of steel grades and market dynamics
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational ability
  • Proficiency in MS Office; ERP/procurement system experience is a plus
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
