**Job Overview**

The Secondary Inclusion Teacher plays a critical role in fostering an inclusive learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional growth of students with diverse learning needs. This role involves designing and implementing individualized education plans, collaborating with classroom teachers and support staff, and employing adaptive teaching strategies to help students achieve their full potential.

**Key Responsibilities**

Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Develop, implement, and regularly review IEPs for students with special educational needs, tailoring learning objectives and strategies to meet each student’s unique requirements.

Differentiated Instruction: Adapt and modify lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessment methods to ensure access to the general curriculum for students with diverse abilities and learning styles.

Learning Interventions: Implement targeted interventions and support strategies for students with additional needs, including cognitive, behavioral, and emotional support.

Collaboration and Communication: Team Collaboration: Work closely with classroom teachers, learning support assistants, and other staff to foster an inclusive classroom environment, sharing best practices and resources for differentiation.

Parental Communication: Communicate regularly with parents to discuss student progress, challenges, and strategies for continued support at home.

**Qualifications*:*Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Certification: Valid teaching certification in Special Education or related fields.

**Experience**: Minimum of 3 years of experience working with students with additional needs in a secondary school setting.

**Skills**

Strong knowledge of differentiation techniques, inclusive education practices, and multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, parents, and staff. Proficiency in assistive technology and educational software tools that support inclusion.
