Senior Solution Architect - SAP

Overview

As the Enterprise SAP Solution Architect, you will assess requests for functionality based on SAP solutions (Cloud and on-premise) to ensure that they provides best value for the Enterprise, and that the proposed solution being implemented fulfils the organisation expectations of high quality, cost-effective solution while improving the organisation agility, flexibility, safety all within a secured and regulatory framework,

As the Enterprise SAP Solution Architect you will be experienced in the implementation of SAP solutions, representing the EA practice in all aspect of SAP matters.

You will have a strategic mindset and adopt a strategic approach to identifying and defining solutions relying on SAP. You will lead the development of solution designs and support the Enterprise PMO team on advisory capacity during the implementation of the solution.

You will be responsible for advising and leading, in collaboration with the Enterprise SAP team, the development of all Architecture Designs and the resolution of all SAP related Architecture concerns.

Within the context of SAP products and solutions, the specific responsibilities of the role are:

- To provide expertise in developing and support in implementing, maintaining SAP solution architectures for both Cloud and On-premise;
- Enhance the current ICT SAP solutions based on assessment of existing, future demand and industry standards/trends;
- Participate in enhancing the Organization Enterprise Architecture as per business requirements and develop/maintain relevant artifacts;
- Ensure that all new implementation are in compliance with the organization standards (technical and security).
- Ensure in collaboration with SAP functional and operational SME to ensure that all aspect of architectural considerations as part of any designs have been fully considered;
- Validate any new initiatives through the proper assessment of requirements and development of supporting justifications;
- Work with business representative and Functional Leads to develop non-functional requirements as part of any procurements activities; Develop Technical specification for Vendor engagement.
- Represent the Enterprise on procurement matters for all SAP technical requirements. Lead or participate the technical evaluation of proposes solutions;
- Participate in project related activities, and act as an advisor to Project Managers ensuring that solutions are implemented according to agreed design; Led and assist in the resolution of any Architecture concerns or issues;
- Develop standards and guides in relation to Architecture activities especially in relations to SAP;
- Share expertise with the operations team and support during major critical incidents and contribute service performance and capacity improvement.
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Experience in working with Senior and Executive Management;
- Strong technical understanding of the SAP landscape keeping abreast of the future development;
- Lead and facilitate regular updates on SAP direction with their product, organising regular presentation or discussion forums of specific topics that may be of interest to the Enterprise;
- Aptitude for "big picture" scope and understanding;
- Solid understanding of the technologies upon which SAP operates;
- Experience of leading the solution design and implementation
- Experience of working with agile teams and working in an agile manner.

As a Solution Architect:

- Specifies and designs large or complex systems.
- Selects appropriate design standards, methods and tools, consistent with agreed enterprise and solution architectures and ensures they are applied effectively..
- Produces detailed component specifications and translates these into detailed designs for implementation using selected products.
- Within a business change program, assists in the preparation of technical plans and cooperates with business assurance and project staff to ensure that appropriate technical resources are made available.
- Provides advice on technical aspects of system development and integration (including requests for changes, deviations from specifications, etc.) and ensures that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices are applied correctly.
- Reviews as assigned others' systems designs to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources, and integration of multiple systems and technology.
- Contributes to policy for selection of architecture components.
- Evaluates and undertakes impact analysis on major design options and assesses and manages associated risks submits to head for further review.
- As assigned designs and builds integration components and interfaces. Leads practical integration work under the technical direction of the system /service designer.
