The Role
**About the Role**: The Logistics Coordinator (Import/Export) is responsible for managing and overseeing the movement of goods and materials internationally, ensuring the efficient and compliant importation and exportation. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of UAE and international shipping regulations and operations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Shipment Coordination 1.1. Coordinate & manage the end-to-end logistics process for imports and exports, ensuring timely and cost-effective movement of goods. 1.2. Liaise with shippers, carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to arrange shipments. 1.3. Liaise within the Supply Chain department & other concerned departments without delay. 1.4. Schedule, track and monitor shipments, ensuring on time destination arrival and without issues. 2. Documentation and Compliance 2.1 Prepare and manage all necessary documentation related to the shipment of goods, such as customs declarations, bills of lading, commercial invoices, etc. 2.2 Ensure compliance with domestic and international trade laws and regulations. 2.3 Keep abreast of changes in import-export laws and regulations and implement necessary adjustments. 3. Cost Management 3.1 Negotiate shipping and handling fees with freight forwarders and shipping companies., including payment terms. 3.2 Analyze and optimize logístical procedures and processes to reduce costs. 3.3 Maintain weekly or monthly price updates for easy and smooth internal process workflow. 4. Reporting and Analytics 4.1 Provide regular updates and reports on the status of shipments, inventory levels, and any issues that arise.Track and report shipment status to relevant parties. 4.2 Assist relevant team with cost analysis to improve shipping efficiency and reduce expenses. 5. Process Improvement: Develop and implement customer service policies, procedures, and standards to improve service efficiency and customer satisfaction. 6. Collaboration: Work closely within Supply Chain department and other departments, such as operations and accounts to ensure a seamless customer experience. 7. Technology Utilization: Utilize the ERP software and tools to track and manage logistics-related activities. 8. Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. 9. Any other responsibilities as and when delegated by the Department Manager and/ or Management directives. 10. Adherence to all Company SOPs, Policies, and UAE regulations.
**Requirements**:
**Qualification & Experience**: - Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business, or a related field. - Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics coordination, with a focus on sea freight. - Strong Understanding of shipping regulations, customs procedures and documentation requirements. - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - Proficient in logistics software and Microsoft Office suite. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications: - Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCMP) - Experience with international shipping and trade compliance. - Familiarity with ocean freight booking system and tolls.
