Job Title: Physical Education (Primary and Secondary)

Position Overview:

As a Physical Education Teacher at The Spanish School of Abu Dhabi, you will create a dynamic and inclusive learning environment for primary and secondary students. You will play a vital role in fostering their physical, social, and emotional development within our multicultural setting. We seek educators who can implement a student-centered learning approach, maintain high standards, and utilize creative teaching methodologies. This role requires dual accreditation to teach in both primary and secondary cycles in Spain.

Responsibilities:

1. Inclusive classroom environment: Create a welcoming classroom that promotes a sense of belonging for students from diverse cultural backgrounds.

2. Curriculum development: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the Spanish curriculum tailored to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and language proficiency.

3. Interactive teaching: Foster a love for learning by incorporating creative and active teaching methodologies to make lessons interactive, hands-on, and enjoyable.

4. Clear learning objectives: Establish and communicate clear learning objectives to students, ensuring they understand academic and behavioral expectations.

5. Individualized support: Provide individualized attention and support to students, adapting teaching strategies to accommodate their unique strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles.

6. Technology integration: Utilize technology and instructional resources to enhance the learning experience and promote digital literacy among students.

7. Student assessment: Assess and evaluate student progress regularly through various formative and summative assessment methods, providing timely feedback to students and parents/guardians.

8. Collaborative projects: Collaborate with other teachers to develop interdisciplinary projects and activities that integrate different subjects and promote critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

9. Community involvement: Encourage student participation in community service initiatives, cultural events, and extracurricular activities to foster social responsibility and global awareness.

10. Parental communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians, providing regular updates on their child's academic progress and addressing any concerns.

11. Classroom management: Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment, implementing effective behavior management strategies and promoting positive discipline practices.

12. Professional development: Stay updated with educational research, best practices, and professional development opportunities to continuously enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

5. Parental engagement: Engage parents/guardians actively in their child's education through regular communication, parent-teacher conferences, and involvement in school activities.

6. Professional growth: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities and collaborate with colleagues to stay current with educational best practices.

Working hours:

- Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.

- Early bird program and afternoon dismissal will be on a rotating schedule.

- School holidays follow the calendar approved by ADEK.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree in Primary Education Grado en Educación Primaria with a specialization in Physical Education Mención en Educación Física plus additional qualifications for Secondary teaching.

- Teaching certification/license or equivalent qualifications recognized by the relevant educational authorities.

- Proven experience teaching primary/secondary students, preferably in a multicultural or international setting.

- Native speaker of Spanish. Proficiency in English is essential.

- Knowledge of the Spanish curriculum and familiarity with innovative teaching methodologies and active learning strategies.

- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.

- Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to embrace the multicultural setting of the school.
