Structural Engineer

Job Title: Structural Engineer Job Purpose: Responsible for the review of structural designs, calculations and analysis aspects of the building permits applications and projects to ensure that buildings and structures are safe and capable of withstanding the elements to which they will be exposed, ensure compliance with authorities requirements, regulations and rules as well as applicable international standards. Support projects teams in any structural review, design or potential improvements or refurbishment requirements. Job Responsibilities: Review of structural system and developed models, design and interpret design results with the aid of structural design programs such as STAAD Pro, CSI ETABS, CSI SAFE, CSI SAP, PROKON, IDEA STATICA and RAM CONNECTION for the assigned activities in view of safety and stability of the structure in accordance with the governing codes. Performing structural analysis/design using software and hand calculations to ensure its structural integrity. Ensure all projects/applications documentation and deliverables are reviewed in accordance with policies and procedures. Reviewing, coordinating, obtaining, and/or planning building in accordance to regulations and requirements or any other authorities in order to obtain approval on the structural design. Technical review of Structural Engineering Design, calculations, assessment on various types of the industrial projects/applications assigned to. Communicate effectively with clients, consultants and contractors as well authorities - when applicable for the requirements and documentations associated with submissions. Familiar with project management practices to facilitate/support clients or projects execution, also to be able to manage departmental projects with the team. Familiar with infrastructure works and NOC process with local and federal authorities. Maintain, organize TSS permits and approval documents, drawings. Appropriately record the document flow to ensure that all documents can be retrieved when needed. Responsible for following up approvals for permits, drawings & approvals, NOCs, letters, completion certificates and other technical documentation from the concerned staff. Responsible for timely communication and completion; escalate any unresolved issues to the line manager and follow up till completion. Responsible for the preparation of a structural design report and potential structural improvements to existing buildings when required. Making calculations about loads and stresses for industrial construction or any other type of applications. Monitoring and inspecting work undertaken by contractors and inspecting the facilities to check the conditions. Participate in the review of contractor work activities; ensure contract compliance with contract obligations. Provides support to the projects team in any structural related to project design or execution. Oversee the construction of buildings/facilities if it covers the issued NOCs, permits etc. Other tasks as assigned by the Management. Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering Professional Qualifications: Professional certification relevant to the field from a recognized professional body. Years of Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years experience in a similar position in Engineering Consulting firms or municipal/construction permitting authorities.
