Roles and responsibilities

  • StructuralDesign andAnalysis

    • Lead thedesign of structural systems for a wide range of projects,including buildings, bridges, industrial plants, andinfrastructure.
    • Perform complex structuralanalysis using advanced techniques (e.g., finite element analysis(FEA), linear/nonlinear analysis) to determine the load-bearingcapacity, stability, and performance ofstructures.
    • Design structural elements such asbeams, columns, foundations, and roofs, considering factors such asload distribution, material strengths, and environmentalconditions.

  • CodeCompliance andStandards

    • Ensure thatall structural designs comply with local, national, andinternational codes and standards (e.g., AISC, ACI, Eurocodes, andlocal building codes).
    • Stay up-to-date withchanges to industry standards and regulations, ensuring that alldesigns meet safety and performancecriteria.
    • Conduct risk assessments to identifyand mitigate potential structural failure risks, including thosearising from natural events like earthquakes, wind, andfloods.

  • ProjectManagement

    • Leadstructural engineering projects from concept to completion,overseeing the design, construction, and post-constructionphases.
    • Coordinate with architects,contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure that thestructural design integrates seamlessly with other elements of theproject.
    • Monitor project timelines, budgets,and resources to ensure that the project stays ontrack.

  • MaterialSelection

    • Selectappropriate materials (e.g., steel, concrete, timber, compositematerials) based on project requirements, environmental factors,and cost considerations.
    • Evaluate theperformance of materials under various loads and environmentalconditions to ensure that they meet safetystandards.

  • ConstructionSupport

    • Providetechnical support during construction, reviewing contractorsubmittals, conducting site visits, and resolving any design orconstruction issues that arise.
    • Performinspections to ensure that the construction is proceeding accordingto design specifications and that materials and workmanship meetquality standards.
    • Approve changes to thedesign if necessary due to unforeseen conditions or project scopechanges.

  • Mentoringand Leadership

    • Lead andmentor junior engineers and other members of the structural designteam, providing guidance and ensuring that designs are executed tothe highest standard.
    • Conduct design reviews,ensuring that team members' work aligns with projectgoals, codes, and safety standards.
    • Foster acollaborative environment and promote knowledge-sharing and skilldevelopment within theteam.

  • RiskManagement

    • Assess andmitigate risks associated with structural design and construction,including environmental risks, load uncertainties, and safetyhazards.
    • Use advanced techniques (e.g.,probabilistic risk analysis) to predict potential failure scenariosand design structures that minimize theserisks.

  • Documentationand Reporting

    • Prepareand review detailed structural design reports, calculations, andspecifications.
    • Maintain comprehensivedocumentation for compliance, quality assurance, and projecttracking purposes.
    • Present technical reportsand design solutions to clients, stakeholders, and regulatoryauthorities.

  • SustainabilityandInnovation

    • Incorporatesustainable design practices, considering environmental impact andresource efficiency in material choices and structuralsystems.
    • Implement innovative engineeringtechniques, such as the use of advanced materials or constructiontechnologies, to optimize the performance and cost-effectiveness ofstructures.

We are looking for Senior Structural Engineers PMC roleswith Offshore experience to be based in AbuDhabi.

Skill &Experience

Minimum 15+ years ofoil & gas experience.

Experience inFeasibility, Concept, FEED,Design.

Minimum 8 Years'Experience In Gas Processing/OnshoreProjects

Minimum 5years' experience in PMCprojects

Bachelor's degree Engineeringor equivalent from an accrediteduniversity

Proficiency in MS Office & MSProject.

Proficiency in reading, writing, andspeaking English.

TechnicalEngineeringExpertise

  • Advancedknowledge of structural analysis, design, and materials science,with a strong foundation in mechanics of materials, structuraldynamics, and load distribution.
  • Expertise indesigning and analyzing various structural systems, includingreinforced concrete, steel, timber, and compositestructures.
  • Proficiency in structural designsoftware (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, Revit, Tekla Structures)and finite element analysis (FEA)tools.

Code andStandardsKnowledge

  • Deepunderstanding of structural design codes and standards, includingthose for seismic design, wind loads, and fireprotection.
  • Ability to ensure that designs meetsafety, regulatory, and industry-specificstandards.

Leadershipand Mentorship

  • Strongleadership skills to guide multidisciplinary teams and mentorjunior engineers.
  • Ability to provide directionand feedback while fostering professional growth and ensuringquality andsafety.
