The Senior Structural engineer is responsiblefor all aspects of the project relating to structural works theduties must be performed professionally and expeditiously tosupport the ongoing progress of the project. The role includesmanagement of the structuralinspector.

JobDuties:

  • The incumbentperforms a broad crosssection of complex technical andadministrative activities requiring extensive experience andspecialization in Contract Compliance Quality Control (QC) andQuality Assurance (QA) inspection of structural scope related tothe project
  • Analyses applicable codes standardsand project contract documents and monitors construction activitiesto ensure compliance with contractdocuments.
  • Interprets or clarifies contractdocuments for Contractors.
  • Maintains andprepares a variety of records including daily/weekly progressreports material accounting records change orders and recorddrawings.
  • Provide assistance to the ProjectEngineer/Site Engineer.
  • Responsible forsupervising directing and coordinating the inspectionteam.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with inspectorsand Project Engineer.
  • Ensuring that responsesare complete and in compliance with the contract documents. Whereproblems are found work with Project Engineer toresolve.
  • Audit inspections for conformity tocontract documents and contractor submittedplans.
  • Assist the Senior Discipline engineer toidentify respond to or evaluate technical issues to maintain theschedule.
  • Highlights any violations toconstruction/ engineering related issues on site through issuanceof NCRs
  • Attends progress review meetings andcoordination meetings to assist the Project Lead/Senior Engineer in resolving any site issues such as discrepancies inprojectsdrawings
  •  Participatesin the coordination and monitoring of snagging and projecthandover
  • Provide support to ResidentEngineer/Team lead  to ensure projects run smoothly byproviding expert knowledge and advice.
  • Liaiseswith the Design Engineer on modifications ifrequired.
  • Gives daily site reports andhighlights issues that arise on site to the ProjectLead.
  • Contributes in the preparation of allkinds of reports and as directed by the projectlead.
  • Monitor Health and Safety of theconstruction works and report on the same. If required stop theconstruction works if unsafe practices are beingfollowed.

SpecificSkills Required

  • Siteexperience in estimation installation and all siteactivities related to all Structural works for construction oflargescale building projects.
  • Familiar with allthe Structural Engineering methodologies as well as thecorresponding equipment materials consumables tools and manpowerallocations related to Structural works for buildingprojects.
  • Well versed in interpreting andexecuting Structural related drawings.
  • Have theknowledge of the related Authoritysrequirements
  • HighRise Residential andCommercial buildings experience required with strong background instartup execution and handover of majorprojects.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • BachelorsDegree in structural or equivalent Plus an advanced post GraduateDegree and membership of a recognized institution would bepreferred or Masters Degree in Civil/StructuralEngineering

Experience

  • Minimum15 years of demonstrable experience in the all aspects ofsupervision and project administration of the structural worksrelated to largescale projects within Middle East/ UAE in theconsultingindustry
