JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE

The incumbent will ensure that preparation and serving of tea, coffee, cold drinks, and other refreshments are provided as per the requirements. The incumbent will also ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the coffee bar, manage coffee bar items, and ensure replenishment of refreshment materials on time.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Welcomes customers when they arrive in the boutique/shop.
  • Receives orders and serves customer requests completely in a timely manner.
  • Prepares and serves a selection of pastries & beverages including different types of coffee and soft drinks.
  • Understands and explains menu content with vivid descriptions of each item's origin, taste, and preparation methods.
  • Anticipates guest needs, ascertains satisfaction, and offers suggestions.
  • Answers guest queries in a polite and helpful manner.
  • Keeps service area clean, tidy, and well-prepared.
  • Removes used glasses, dishes, and flatware from tables.

QUALIFICATION

  • Secondary education.
  • Good command of the English language both verbal and written. Knowledge of another foreign language is desirable but not preferred.

CERTIFICATION

  • Barista Certificate.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

  • Focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Efficient and organized.
  • Ability to build good relationships with guests and other patrons of the boutique/shop.
  • Practices basic safety procedures with respect to equipment and handling beverages.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum two (2) years' food serving experience in a coffee shop, bar, or executive lounges.
