Job Description

As Architectural BIM Technician, you will be responsible for:

  1. Reviewing BIM models received from contractors based on Project BIM EIR and BEP.
  2. Performing detailed models review to meet LOD 300, 400, and 500 requirements.
  3. Conducting BIM QA/QC processes based on agreed checklists and standards.
  4. Performing clash detection processes and classifying clashes; attending internal coordination meetings.
  5. Playing a key role in Discipline drawings review based on the approved BIM model.
  6. Assisting the discipline engineer in BIM model information extraction including sketches, schedules, etc.
  7. Preparing draft BIM progress reports per discipline as requested.
  8. Performing bespoke modelling activities when requested.
  9. Having experience with BIM modeling activities of all Building Services requirements respecting internal processes, project standards, and industry best practices.
  10. Having experience with Revit project environment setup with respect to the Project BEP.
  11. Producing field engineering and construction working drawings as part of the production team, including BIM documentation, printing, binding, and other CAD-related assistance for the Project and Discipline Engineers.
  12. Contributing to the spatial design coordination process using the Navisworks platform.
  13. Supporting data exchange within Project deployed CDE at various construction stages.
  14. Working under the direct supervision of the BIM Manager or Discipline Manager, responsible for all production and drafting tasks directly assigned.
  15. Providing multi-disciplinary modeling assistance for the project team as assigned.
  16. Completing tasks within timelines and budgets respecting team look-ahead plans.

  • Striving to learn and promote new BIM authoring techniques that enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Attending training, lectures, and undertaking private research into current technical literature.
  • Responding appropriately to performance feedback.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of experience with BIM authoring (including Revit) and proper modeling/drafting methods.
  • Thorough knowledge of the BIM delivery process.
  • Ability to explore, verify, and review BIM modeling progress based on delivery schedule.
  • Understanding the requirements of 4D and 5D and all LOD requirements.
  • Ability to explain BIM terminologies such as: EIR, BEP, LOD, 4D, 5D, etc.
  • Contractor BIM experience is desired but not essential.
  • Proven ability to reflect bespoke design proposals through BIM.
  • Advanced software skills of AutoDesk suite: Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD.
  • Understanding of multidisciplinary coordination through BIM.
  • Knowledge of design review and coordination software such as Navisworks.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office programs.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Good communication skills with competency in English.
  • Completing other related tasks as expected of a BIM technologist of the above-indicated capacity.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience working within an architectural, engineering, or consulting organization.
