Crescent Petroleum Upstream isseeking a technical lead for geophysics to join the SubsurfaceTeam. The Lead Geophysicist will be leading a team of geophysicistsand provide technical leadership for all geophysical studiesincluding managing geophysical projects, providing expert analysisand guiding interpretation of geophysical data. An important partof this is managing team performance (goal setting and performanceevaluation) and team development (identify training needs andsupport career advancement). In addition, the Lead Geophysicist isexpected to lead the geophysics part of Upstream's welldelivery process and provide technical support to ongoing drillingoperations as well as providing technical support to area assetmanagers and field development projects. Furthermore, it isexpected that the Lead Geophysicist take part in the annualworkplan and budget process to provide the necessary inputpertaining to the geophysics domain. An important part of the LeadGeophysicist's role is to plan and manage geophysicsprojects to ensure on-time delivery withinbudget.

KeyResponsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team ofgeophysicists, providing technicalguidance
  • Undertake, manage, and deliver highquality technical project work
  • Providetechnical scope and deliverables for projectproposals
  • Contribute to business developmentactivities
  • Manage execution of geophysicalprojects ensuring timely delivery withinbudget
  • Develop and implement strategic goalsand objectives for the geophysics team
  • Organiseand contribute to partner workshops andmeetings
  • Track performance and manage costs ofgeophysics budget items
  • Evaluation ofgeophysical contracts including evaluation of new technologies andequipment
  • Design and oversee acquisition,processing, and interpretation of geophysicaldata
  • Advise on best equipment and softwarechoices for geophysical data acquisition andprocessing
  • Design acquisition reportingtemplates and other appropriatedocumentation
  • Oversee seismic interpretationand cross discipline data integration
  • Prepareand deliver technical reports, presentations, anddocumentation
  • Present interpretations, andrecommendations to senior management and otherstakeholders
  • Provide mentoring and technicalassistance to younger technical staff

Qualifications

  • University degree in geophysics - MScor PhD degree is preferred
  • 12-15+ years ofexperience in geophysics (E&P Operating Company orGeoscience Consultancy)

  • Held similar positions leadinghigh-performance technical teams
  • Provenexperience in managing geophysicalprojects
  • Expertise in seismic interpretation,data processing
  • Must be fluent in English,while skills in Arabic are an advantage
  • Must beproficient in Petrel whereas skills in other industry software isan advantage
