MainResponsibilities

  • Conduct design reviews and providetechnical guidance to the team
  • Ensure thedesign aligns with client requirements, and is in compliance withcurrent UAE legislation, industry standards and specificationswhere appropriate
  • Manage all aspects of theroads design production process to ensure the overall design isaligned to and directly supports the achievement ofprogram's strategicobjectives
  • Participate in establishingpractices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to managethe design and its approval, across the projectstakeholders
  • Assist the Senior Design Managerin the preparation of a detailed project plan, as part of theProject Management Plan, for the roads design phases of theprogram
  • Manage the day-to-day roads designmonitoring activities and resources and actively participate in thedesign team meetings
  • Ensure that all roadsdesign related project KPIs, targets, directions and instructionsare communicated to all relevant project stakeholders in a clearand timely manner
  • Coordination between otherdisciplines
  • Provide status reporting regardingroads design milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks andissues, communicating acrossleadership
  • Participate and/or drive feasibilitystudies, vendor selections and proposals for evaluation byappropriate key stakeholders
  • Act as an internalquality control check for the roads designdocumentation
  • Ensure that designs areproceeding according to scope, schedule, budget and qualitystandards
  • Manage design issues and risks tomitigate impact to baseline program
  • Extensiveunderstanding of project and program management principles, methodsand techniques
Desired candidate profile
  • BSc in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning ora closely related field
  • Design ofinfrastructure projects within a Consulting environment in AbuDhabi
  • Minimum of 10 years overallexperience
  • Minimum of 5 years'experience in a similar role
  • Minimum of 5 yearsworking in Middle East
  • A deep understanding ofroad and highway design principles, as well as local regulationsrelated to road and highway design in AbuDhabi
  • Excellent report writing andcommunication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Officeand AutoCAD and other industry standard software as applicable torole
  • Exhibit exceptional interpersonal skillsto collaborate effectively with diversestakeholders
  • A high standard of spoken andwritten English, Arabic speakingadvantageous
  • Strong organizational skills, withthe ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and toprioritize competing demands
