About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity for an experienced Advanced Process Control (APC) expert to join our Global Manufacturing Excellence team at MatchaTalent. As a Senior APC Engineer, you will play a key role in optimizing refinery operations and maximizing desired product yields.

Key Responsibilities
  1. APC Strategy Development: Streamline APC objectives with corporate goals and develop programs, best practices, and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to enhance APC and economic performance.
  2. Data Analysis: Analyze data from various sources, including process variables, instrumentation, and control systems to identify improvement opportunities.
  3. Inferential Modeling: Develop inferential models (linear and nonlinear) to enhance refinery operations efficiency and cost reduction.
  4. APC Implementation: Implement APC strategies, conduct feasibility studies, and establish new business cases to optimize refinery operations and maximize desired product yields.
  5. Technology Evaluation: Conduct pilots and evaluate new APC technologies such as Real-Time optimization, Machine Learning, and AI to contribute to yield improvement.
  6. Problem Analysis: Analyze chronic problems and debottleneck complex APC to enhance process operations and economic benefits.
  7. Subject Matter Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise to operating facilities, Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams through consulting, awareness sessions, and participation in technical exchanges and conferences.
  8. Technical Leadership: Lead technical sessions such as design reviews, model reviews, and commissioning.
  9. Performance Evaluation: Conduct periodic assessments and evaluations to gauge the performance and effectiveness of real-time optimization solutions.
  10. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the optimization team (Real-Time optimization engineers, Simulation engineers, and automation engineers) to ensure optimization requirements are met.
  11. APC Technology Evaluation: Lead pre- and post-performance baseline evaluations for APC technologies.
  12. Economic Benefit Monitoring: Monitor economic benefit Key Performance Indicators and provide recommendations.
  13. Standards and Guidelines: Review standards and General Instructions on behalf of the GME departments and act as a leading Subject Matter Expert (SME).
Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is required.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in Advanced Process Control (APC) is required.
  3. Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in APC control systems and OPC communication is essential.
  4. Refinery Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of refinery economics, mass, and energy balances is essential.
  5. International Standards: Familiarity with international standards and specifications for advanced process control is required.
  6. Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills in the field of advanced process control are required.
  7. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills to effectively manage technical discussions and guide technical teams are required.
  8. Oil/Gas Knowledge: Working knowledge of oil/gas-related plant processes is preferred.
