Role Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Category Manager in refining and executing the category strategy in line with departmental goals.
  • Support the achievement of category objectives and targets through strategic initiatives.
  • Research and identify emerging consumer trends within the online grocery and Q-commerce sectors.
  • Negotiate and source promotional items from suppliers on a regular basis.
  • Design and implement monetization campaigns tailored to partner needs and Careem Quik objectives.
  • Work closely with the merchandising team to ensure successful campaign launches.
  • Coordinate with the supply chain team to guarantee stock availability and facilitate the onboarding of new products.
  • Collaborate with the pricing team to secure competitive pricing that enhances category profitability.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers through regular business reviews and growth planning.
  • Oversee the category assistant to ensure accurate item content and optimal visibility on the app.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to enhancing customer experiences, a focus on excellence, and alignment with our core values.

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the grocery sector, specifically in Buying or Category Management, with a focus on Fruits and Vegetables.
  • Experience in technology or startup environments is advantageous.
  • Proven track record in negotiating with suppliers and importers of fruits and vegetables, actively building partnerships.
  • Experience in account management is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders effectively.
  • A hands-on approach and resilience in overcoming challenges.
