Job Summary

Ajman University is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Student Activities Coordinator to oversee and advise on a wide range of cocurricular activities and programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing student clubs and organizations, student publications, organizing trips, and coordinating cultural and social events to enhance student development and engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Student Club Management: Provide support and direction to student clubs and club advisors, promote the establishment and development of new clubs, and maintain appropriate contact with all clubs, including advisors.
  2. Event Planning and Coordination: Implement the annual plan addressing the educational, cultural, and social needs of the student body, clubs, communities, and societies. Promote, organize, and coordinate campus special events such as New Student Orientation, Club Fair, Global Day, National Days, AU Got Talent, and other activities.
  3. Program Evaluation and Assessment: Establish and assess the student learning outcomes, events, programs objectives. Provide an annual orientation for student clubs' board members to ensure awareness of policies and procedures.
  4. Student Publications and Finance: Supervise the production of student publications. Supervise and review the finances and budget of the female student clubs.
  5. Communication and Marketing: Coordinate, prepare, and disseminate publications related to clubs. Assist in preparing and editing student flyers, posters, and other materials prepared by clubs for on and off-campus distribution.
  6. Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all Student Activities events and Student Council activities (including event proposals, budgets, contacts, contracts, media/publicity, and evaluations).
  7. Travel Coordination: Organize trips and coordinate travel arrangements for student-related travel in accordance with AU policies and procedures.
  8. Student Engagement and Feedback: Communicate with students about events and/or student life opportunities available at AU. Seek feedback and collect data on activities provided by OSL to identify potential areas of improvement.
  9. Student Elections and Supervision: Supervise the election process for student clubs and student council officers.
  10. Reporting and Assessment: Prepare weekly/monthly reports. Conduct assessments for student activities and events, compile and analyze data related to student participation, student development, and program evaluation, and take necessary action accordingly.
  11. Advisor Support and Orientation: Work closely with the clubs' advisors, conduct a monthly meeting with them, and organize an orientation session at the beginning of each academic year.
  12. Program Promotion and Development: Promote existing and new activities and development programs. Provide problem-solving, counseling, motivation, and consultation to student clubs.
  13. Statistical Reporting and Media Coverage: Maintain statistical reports and other records which assess accomplishments, appropriate student learning outcomes. Ensure proper media coverage of student life events, activities, and programs.
  14. Additional Responsibilities: Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the Director of Student Life.
Qualifications and Experience
  1. Bachelor's degree in social studies or any related field.
  2. With 3-5 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Knowledge and Skills
  1. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  2. Ability to communicate effectively in Arabic and English languages, both orally and in writing.
  3. Program planning, implementation, and evaluation skills.
