About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Jumeirah Beach Hotel. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality food according to menu guidelines and recipes, as well as assisting the Executive Chef in setting service and food standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook high-quality food according to menu guidelines and recipes.
  • Assist the Executive Chef in setting service and food standards.
  • Communicate any issues arising within the section to the Executive Chef and act on any further directions given.
  • Assist the Executive Chef in the development of new menu ideas.
  • Manage staff training and maintain an active training plan for each team member.
  • Implement approved departmental policies and procedures.
  • Motivate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for participating in change initiatives.

About You:

The ideal candidate for this position will have a College Degree in Culinary Arts or similar from an accredited Culinary School, with at least 5 years of experience, including 2 years as a Sous Chef in a luxury international hotel with Mediterranean/grill/British cuisines. Expertise in menu development, pricing, production, and delivery skills, as well as culinary knowledge of both classical and international culinary trends, is essential.
