Job Title: Senior Telecommunications Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Telecommunications Engineer to join our team at Precision Hire Solution. As a Senior Telecommunications Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing telecommunications systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement telecommunications systems for clients
  • Coordinate with instrumentation and telecom design groups to engineer tie-ins on existing off-shore and on-shore oil and gas processing facilities
  • Perform telecom engineering design duties associated with greenfield and brownfield off-shore and on-shore oil and gas processing facilities and downstream facilities such as refineries and petrochemical plants
  • Prepare front-end engineering deliverables, including design basis specifications, data sheets, sizing calculations, studies, and reports
  • Prepare FEED and detail design deliverables, such as block diagrams, location layouts, cable routing layouts, interconnection drawings, etc., in collaboration with designers
  • Carry out bid evaluation/vendor review and approval
  • Coordinate and network design/interface with required process control and safety systems
  • Quality assurance: responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the quality assurance system relevant to the oil and gas business unit
  • Safety: responsible for personal safety and safe working practices for the oil and gas business unit. Understand and follow OH&S procedures
Requirements:
  • Engineering degree or equivalent; previous experience in a similar role is highly regarded
  • Anticipate at least relevant experience with telecom design and engineering in the oil and gas/refinery/petrochemical environment, including a minimum of years of offshore experience
  • Knowledge of hazardous area requirements
  • A positive attitude towards health, safety, and the environment
  • The ability to work within a project team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work unsupervised
