About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost and Project Accountant to join our team at Emerson. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate valuation of our inventory, creating standard costs for raw materials and finished goods, and reviewing financial reports.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Inventory Valuation and Management: Ensure accurate valuation of MEA Plant inventory in accordance with US GAAP and company policy.
  2. Financial Reporting: Review and prepare monthly Plant P&L's and related cost accounting reports.
  3. Cost Accounting: Support E&O calculations, inventory reconciliation, and preparation of Plant PORs and Budgets.
  4. Financial Close: Engage and lead HUB financial close activities and upload - inventory and accruals.
  5. Balance Sheet Management: Maintain clean Balance Sheet schedules for Plant.
  6. Capex Management: Prepare and maintain MEA Capex spend tracker and plan.
  7. Forecasting: Forecast vs Actual.
  8. System Transition: Own the Jubail to fuel Oracle transition.
  9. System Challenges: Highlight and resolve any system challenges.
  10. Inventory Count: Engage and lead Plant annual inventory count and complete variance report and follow up.
  11. IT Support: Liaise with Global and WA IT team/ IT support team for any Oracle or other ERP issues and drive the solution.
  12. Training and Development: Coordination/provision of training of other team members of Oracle developments and changes as Oracle Finance super users.
  13. Margin Analysis: Provide margin analysis for projects at award and post execution to Sales Director.
  14. Process Standardization: Work closely with operations and drive process standardizations.
  15. Cost Reduction: Initiate cost reduction strategies.
  16. Management Reporting: Prepare management reports defining key indicators and metrics and provide comprehensive variance analysis.
  17. Accounting Processes: Develop and detail HUB accounting processes; ensure team is accurately educated and updated for Oracle functionality and other ERP.
  18. Intelligent Automation: Drive the intelligent automation program and represent finance team.
  19. Knowledge Sharing: Be part of the training and share knowledge with the team.
  20. Additional Responsibilities: Any other duties as deemed by your line manager.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ Years Experience in Corporate Accounting or Finance.
  • Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office in general, expertise in Excel and PowerPoint. Ability & interest in quickly learning to extract data from other business systems (JDE, Hyperion, Oracle).
  • Education: Accounting or Finance Degree. MBA/CPA or other accreditations are advantageous but not vital.
