Position Summary
As a vital member of the culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients for cooking, which includes tasks such as portioning, chopping, and properly storing food items. Your role will involve washing and peeling fresh produce, as well as weighing, measuring, and mixing various ingredients.
In this position, you will prepare and cook dishes in accordance with established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines. You will also be tasked with preparing cold dishes and operating kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
It is essential to test food items to ensure they are cooked to the appropriate level. You will monitor food quality throughout the preparation process, set up and break down your workstation, and serve food in the correct portions using appropriate receptacles.
Additionally, maintaining a clean and sanitized kitchen environment is crucial. This includes washing and disinfecting kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment. You will also be responsible for checking and ensuring the correct temperatures of appliances and food items.
